  • 5/5 from Heist Anne-Sophie, attended Sep 2026: She is a wealth of knowledge and so so incredibly patient. Usually people get a bit jaded as time passes but she is still so passionate about teacher others hwr knowledge and craft. Would definitely recommend. I broight my own Janome to learn on and it was super helpful.
  • 5/5 from Louisa Lochner, attended Sep 2026: Absolutely brilliant. Came away confident that I can now start sewing - going to make a skirt next week!
  • 5/5 from Veronica Kaneti, attended Sep 2026: I cannot recommend the workshop highly enough. It was exceptionally well-structured, balancing primary skills knowledge with practical, hands-on practise. The highlight of the session was definitely the instructor Susan. Patient, friendly and most helpful. What she doesn't know about sewing, design and the fashion industry, isn't worth knowing!
  • 5/5 from Amanda Lancaster, attended Sep 2026: Thoroughly enjoyed this course. Susan was very clear and was full of wonderful tips thanks to her background in the fashion industry. I couldn't believe how much I did by the end of the day (seaming, making darts, zips, etc) considering I had never used a sewing machine before the class. I came away with enough confidence that I bought a sewing machine the next day and am now practicing making simple beginner projects.
  • 5/5 from Jessica Hodcroft, attended Sep 2026: The class was really comprehensive and great for beginners. Susan was great - so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Bini Doyle, attended Sep 2026: An absolutely incredible class jam packed full of learning and technique. Could not have covered this much ground anymore.
  • 5/5 from Caroline Harmstone, attended Sep 2026: Excellent class with all the tools you need to get started on your seeing journey
  • 5/5 from Jack March, attended Sep 2026: Susan was a wonderful teacher, incredibly knowledgeable and patient with everyone in the class. We learned so much in the short amount of time we had with Susan and she was very generous with her time after class to take questions about what we had learned. Would absolutely recommend if you have 0 or a tiny amount of experience with your or a sewing machine.
  • 5/5 from Suptasree Roy, attended Sep 2026: Believe all the 5 star reviews. This course is brilliant and Susan is fabulous. Learnt an incredible amount and left feeling excited to give it all a go. Had a lot of fun with my classmates too. I was taught to use a sewing machine at school a few decades ago so i remembered fragments but you don’t have to know anything.
  • 5/5 from Fareeda Atwan, attended Sep 2026: Really enjoyed the day, teacher is so generous with her knowledge! Feel like I got so much out of the day
  • 4/5 from Naseem Smith, attended Sep 2026: Absolutely lovely teacher and environment. Pace was just a little too fast for me as I was a complete beginner. We also had a very short lunch break, so my learning capacity was a little affected. This is brilliant for someone who already has looked at sewing patterns and has some knowledge.
  • 5/5 from Amaria Laouar, attended Aug 2026: Highly recommended for beginners - I didn’t even know how to switch on the sewing machine and now I am able to make a skirt with a zip and invisible hem. Fantastic course - worth every penny ️
  • 5/5 from Fiona Corcoran, attended Aug 2026: A really great course, would highly recommend. Susan was great at explaining everything and I came away feeling really confident. So much so that I purchased a sewing machine just a couple of days later and am starting some new fun projects.
  • 5/5 from Urmee Ludhi, attended Aug 2026: Absolutely loved my first sewing class today! ✨ It was intensive, but we got through so much, and I learned a lot. My teacher took the time to go around and help everyone individually, explaining everything so thoroughly and patiently. I’d highly recommend this class to anyone, whether you’re a complete beginner or already experienced. Can’t wait for the next one! ❤️

  • 5/5 from Eva Lance Hughes, attended Aug 2026: A really lovely class! The studio was cosy, bright and cheerful. There were demonstrations followed by hands on experience with the sewing machine. We learnt a lot in those 6 hours! An utter delight. Thank you!
  • 5/5 from Evie Dissanayeke, attended Aug 2026: very friendly teacher and helpful experience
  • 5/5 from Rosalind S Abidde, attended Aug 2026: I will start by saying the teacher was amazing! She, Susan took her time to explain, demonstrate and gave 1:1 explanation to everyone. No question was silly or left unanswered. Susan was friendly and made learning fun and easy with some anecdotes of sewing materials and machines from back in the day, to make us realise how different and also similar sewing is today! She gave us a lot of hints from her own experience on making clothings. She also promised to send us some materials that would help in our sewing jpourney. I learnt a lot and will now buy some fabrics to practice what Susan taught me. I know I will be able to make a skirt after learning from the best teacher today. The atmosphere was friendly and everyone respected one another. I wish there were more teachers like Susan in the sewing industry. Keep up the good job, please teacher Susan. It was money well spent! Thanks, Susan. From Rosalind 30th August 2026

  • 5/5 from Selina Brown, attended Jul 2026: Very informative. I left feeling very confident.
  • 5/5 from Sanchita Chowdhury, attended Jul 2026: Susan was such a passionate teacher. She looked into the details and helped in evey step. She tried to cover quite a lot.
  • 5/5 from Elaine Hogan, attended Jul 2026: Susan is an excellent teacher, managing to share a huge amount of knowledge and tips from her career in fashion design, in a way that makes it very accessible for a beginner. The course covers all the sewing techniques that a beginner needs to more confidently use patterns and sewing machines to make basic clothing. Highly recommended.
  • 5/5 from Olivia Giacon, attended Jul 2026: Susan was an amazing teacher - SO much learning and such a depth of expertise in her years of working in the fashion industry! The studio was lovely as well as the rest of the group, and really did have such an informative and fun day. Definitely investing in my own sewing machine now!! Thank you so much.
  • 5/5 from Viviene Gan, attended Jul 2026: I really enjoyed this sewing class! Susan gave us the basic / foundation of what we need to know before we begin sewing 1. Straight stitch 2. Zig zag 3. How to wheel your bobbin 4. How to back stitch 5. How to do an edge stitch/ double stitch 6. How to read a pattern (super important because I’m clueless!) Left the class feeling more confident and knowledgable! Highly recommend :) I also loved how Susan was so willing to answer any questions we have patiently!
  • 5/5 from Jenny Grand, attended Jul 2026: Susan was a great teacher. We learnt so much and now I look forward to making alterations to clothes. I brought my own sewing machine along which I had never used and now I can use it with confidence instead of it being at the back of a cupboard! It was also great to learn something new and useful! Thank you.
  • 5/5 from Kathryn Baker, attended Jul 2026: The session with Susan was great, it was intensive and fast paced but she explained everything well and checked on us all as we were going to make sure we understood. We covered a wide enough range of stitches that I should be able to make my own skirt now!
  • 5/5 from Natalie Hass, attended Jul 2026: I loved this class so much! I had no prior knowledge of sewing but Susan made it so easy to understand and we all felt so accomplished at the end of the class when we managed to make various hems and zips etc. I have already recommended this class to some friends who wanted to learn the basics of sewing! I only wish there were more classes at various levels so we could all continue the sewing journey with Susan as she was a great teacher! ☺️

  • 5/5 from Natasha Thomas, attended Apr 2026: The teacher was very friendly and informative, there was enough time for her to help everyone who needed it. She even tried to help me fix the machine that I brought with me. After learning to use the machine we learnt various seam types and how they apply to making clothes. It was a thorough beginners course. Would recommend!
  • 5/5 from Rosa Finnegan, attended Apr 2026: The class was so good! I had never used a sewing machine before so the hands on teaching in a small group was really beneficial. I brought my sewing machine that I had recent got as a gift but plenty of machines were provided. Susan was very knowledgeable and informative and the class was a good balance of demonstration and practicing the techniques ourselves. We covered quite a lot, and it was hands on practice starting with winding the bobbin and threading the needle then moving on to different types of stitching including straight stitch, reverse stitch and zig zag stitching. We practiced creating a lot of elements used in making garments like different types of seams, creating a dart, sewing on a curve to create a pocket lining, making a facing for a neckline, sewing a concealed zip and and different types of hemming. Susan also covered the basics of using patterns demonstrated how to make a button hole and gave a lot of contextual information about how clothing is made in the fashion industry. I found the atmosphere relaxed and friendly and I left the class feeling confident using my sewing machine and thirsty for more sewing! Susan also followed up with an extensive list of further learning and resources which was great. I would highly recommend this class

She demonstrated all the sewing types with great details. The reason I took this class was because I was worried to use a sewing machine. And I left the session as a confident person ready to practice. I bought a sewing machine today and I am excited to practice what I learnt. Thank you very much.

It was a hugely enjoyable day learning how to sew. The lesson included everything from getting the sewing machine ready to use e.g types of needles to use and different settings on the machine, to tips on how to to read and understand a sewing pattern and the types of materials to choose. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who is interested in learning how to sew and I can guarantee that you will come away with more knowledge and confidence. Big thumbs up.
  • 5/5 from Marissa Tavernier, attended Mar 2026: Great class. Susan was informative, gave tonnes of examples, and brought some pieces to show us examples of the techniques as we went along. It was helpful to see what techniques we were applying in real life and made me realise how intricate clothes designing is when you're making it, not just pulling something off a rack. Well-paced too: lots to learn but never rushed.
