Are you a creative teen eager to explore the world of textile crafts? Join us for a 5-day workshop where you'll dive into the wonderful realm of knitting, crochet, spinning, and more! This hands-on experience is designed to ignite your passion for textile arts and uncover the craft that speaks to your heart.
We will cover:
Knitting Basics:
- Introduction to Knitting: Learn the fundamentals of knitting, including casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, and casting off.
- Hands-on Practise: Work on a simple knitting project to practise your newly acquired skills and gain confidence in handling knitting needles and yarn.
Crochet Fundamentals:
- Getting Started with Crochet: Explore the basics of crochet, including chain stitch, single crochet, and double crochet.
- Creative Crochet Projects: Experiment with different crochet stitches to create a variety of textures and patterns.
Spinning and Fibre Arts:
- Introduction to Spinning: Discover the ancient art of spinning fibres into yarn using a drop spindle or spinning wheel.
- Exploration of Fibres: Learn about different types of fibres and their properties as you spin your own unique yarns.
Discovering Your Passion:
- Reflect and Create: Reflect on your experiences throughout the workshop and identify the textile craft that resonates most with you.
- Personal Project: Use the final days to work on a personal project that showcases your newfound skills and passion for textile arts.

Requirements:
No prior experience in textile crafts is necessary. This workshop is open to teenagers of all skill levels and backgrounds.
All materials and tools will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own if desired.
