Discover the ancient craft of drop spindle spinning, one of the oldest tools known to humanity. Through the use of a drop spindle, you'll unlock the skills of twisting and plying fibres, strengthening them and expanding their potential uses. Our class will be centred around the art of spinning sheep's wool.
During this engaging workshop, you'll delve into various types of wool and explore different techniques for preparing wool fibres for spinning. The heart of the class is mastering the drop spindle itself and the art of spinning thread. You'll also gain proficiency in plying your spun thread, and by the end, you'll walk away with a small sample of your very own hand-spun yarn. Join us for an enriching experience in the world of traditional craftsmanship!
