I took my partner to this class as a birthday gift, and while he was initially a bit sceptical about making a charcuterie board, he was quickly won over by the creative possibilities. He ended up having a great time and being really happy with the board he made. It's a brilliant gift for someone who likes making things with their hands (and eating cured meats and picky bits). After an early woodworking failure at school, I wasn't at all confident in my abilities, but Johanna's instructions were great, and with her guidance, I was able to bring my vision to life. This project is a great introduction to woodworking. You get to use some fun tools to make something practical that's totally doable within the time allowed and provides the opportunity to be creative. There were three people in our class so everyone got plenty of time and attention, and each of our boards looked so different, but they all turned out so well. It was such fun way to spend a few hours and then to get to take home a unique piece. I can't wait to have people over for cheese and charcuterie and be able to brag that I made the board myself.
