Make your own Sterling Silver Stacking Rings at Hove Jewellery Works. Join us for a fun workshop and learn how to make and texture three rings in three hours. This class is ideal for beginners and those who would like to refresh their jewellery knowledge. Each student will be guided through the process of making 3 textured stacking rings using hand tools and jewellery making equipment.
Under the guidance of your tutor, you will learn the following skills

  • Annealing (heating)
  • Forming (hammering and shaping)
  • Soldering
  • Sizing
  • Texturing
  • Filing
  • Papering (finishing process)
  • Polishing
Prior to the class we will send you a welcome letter and induction form via email. This will contain all the information you will need for the day. By the end of the class, you'll not only have your beautiful set of stacking rings to take home with you, but also a whole set of newfound skills to give you years of enjoyment.

There were 6 people in the class and we shaped, soldered and then created our individual designs on the rings using various hammers and tools. A bit of buffering and cleaning later and we went home with some beautiful creations. The teacher was lovely and very attentive. The three hours sped by as we were so engaged with the task at hand. Would thoroughly recommend.

Hove Jewellery Works was founded by experienced jeweller and setter, Mat Brannagan in August 2020 after more than a decade working in the jewellery industry. Mat's creative journey began with a BA Honours degree in Wood, Plastics and Ceramics from Brighton University, before he moved on to work for brands such as Posh Totty Designs, Pruden and Smith and Whibleys the Jewellers. He also gained experience in teaching, leading at The Workshop in Lewes.
Mat wanted to create a fun, creative and supportive space where students can come together to learn and explore jewellery techniques from basic bench skills to advanced techniques.

Based in the heart of Hove, Hove Jewellery Works is located in Stockwell Lodge Studios which is approximately 5 minutes walk from Hove train station. The workshop is fully equipped with industry standard tools and machinery. Classes are taught mostly in small groups, allowing for ample quality time with their tutor.
