Forming Metal
After planning your project, we'll start forming your metal. This includes measuring, piercing, filing your sterling silver.
Everyone's Favourite Step - the Soldering
Everyone loves it when the torch comes out! I'll show you how to use your torch safely and you'll solder your pieces.
Tidy Up Your Piece
A little more forming with pliers and hammers - this is the part where you magic some more texture on your piece if you'd like.
The last ugly step is tidying up your piece - you will file away any excess solder and make the last file strokes on your piece before it goes for a pickle bath to remove burn marks.
Setting Your Stone
Once your piece is nice and clean of burn marks, it's time to set your stone into your handmade (by you!) bezel cup. I'll show you how to do that of course!

Your teacher
Come and join me in my cosy jewellery studio in beautiful Henfield, West Sussex for a morning of jewellery making. I`ll go through the basics of jewellery making with you and you can decide what you`d like to make, here are the options - please get in touch prior to your session if you'd like to make something different, additional material is available to purchase on the day. ~3 stacking rings, one with a chosen gemstone, mini pebble or accent~1 chunky ring and a stacking ring to complement such as wishbone ring or Mandala ring, one with gemstone~1 gemstone pendant~1 pair of gemstone earrings~1 pair of hoop earringsWe will plan your project together and go through measuring, piercing, soldering and polishing your new pieces. You will be using tools from my studio and create your piece using traditional silversmithing techniques. All materials and PPE are provided, as well as a luxurious Izabella Szabo Jewellery gift box with an anti-tarnish slip and polishing cloth.There will be snacks, hot and cold drinks and plenty of time to discuss any questions that come up. No alcohol is permitted in the studio. Sunday sessions are also available for groups of 2 and more, just message me to arrange. Full information will be emailed to you with your confirmation of booking and don`t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions beforehand.My home studio is located in Henfield, West Sussex, with plenty of free on street parking. Why not make a day out of your jewellery making experience and go for a big walk on the Downs Link or enjoy one of the lovely cafes for lunch on the Hight Street. Teens from 15 years old are welcome with a paying responsible adult.
