How can we help?
Q: What happens if I miss a class?
You can re-book one make-up session per term if you miss a class for any reason. These will be available during the times of another class (Monday lunchtimes, Monday evenings & Wednesday evenings), or during a designated catch-up class in the 5th week of the course.
Q: Is the venue accessible?
Unfortunately the studio is in our loft conversion so isn't wheelchair accessible.
Q: I would like to try the wheel, how can I do this?
We know that many people want to give throwing on the wheel a try, so you can choose to book an optional extra throwing session on the 7th week of the course, for an extra £40.
Q: Are there any extra costs?
At the end of your course you will be charged firing costs for what you have made. This costs £1 per 100g of fired, finished work. Most people spend £15 - £20 on firing, but it very much depends what you make! We do have some fancier glazes you can choose to use, which cost a bit more, but our included studio glazes are very beautiful too and don't cost any extra.
Q: Do you provide refreshments?
Yes, you can have as much tea and coffee as you like!
Q: What's the cancellation policy?
A: No cancellations or reschedules allowed

What you'll do
Make some beautiful ceramic objects for your home or garden on this small and friendly 6-week pottery course at our studio in Brighton.This small-group course (no more than 7 participants) will introduce you to the basic principles of hand-built pottery (and you can have a go on the wheel as well in an optional extra class).You will make several objects on the course using the hand-building techniques of pinching, coiling, and slabbing. You can explore various decoration techniques and use our huge range of beautiful glazes.Suitable for beginners, as well as those with some pottery experience, you will be taught by Alice or Tom (who run Hot Fox Pottery from their cosy home studio in Brighton). As the classes are small, you will get plenty of 1-2-1 tuition (and tea!)On-street parking is free at the time of the course.Any questions, please drop me a message!

Hot Fox Pottery is run by Alice and Tom Fox from our studio in Brighton.We love introducing people to pottery, and our workshops are creative, relaxing and fun. There is so much you can do with clay, and everyone at our pottery classes comes away feeling proud of the lovely things they have made.Pottery is a wonderfully tactile craft, and people who come to our sessions often describe the experience as therapeutic, surprising themselves with what they can do, even as a total beginner. We have lots of experience of running workshops for large groups, parties and team-bonding, and can also bring our mobile studio to you!We use high-end stoneware materials and beautiful glazes, and the pots you make will be things you can use for years to come. ​
