What you'll do
Come and learn to upcycle a pre-loved object into a stunning piece of DIY home decor at this lamp making workshop in a central Brighton studio!
Whether you need unique hen party ideas or team building activities for a group of creative sparks, this fun craft class will help you illuminate new skills in an inspiring space.
You'll begin by looking at your chosen object to establish the steps needed to convert it into a beautiful lamp and pick the type of lamp holders and cables that complement your piece.
Your friendly teacher will be on hand with one-to-one support as you begin customising your object and prepare it for wiring by attaching components, drilling holes and making space for electrical equipment to be housed within.
After a short break for drinks and snacks, you'll watch a demonstration on how to wire your lamp before you get hands-on and try it yourself. Your teacher will check your finished work to ensure it is correct and safe before PAT testing your piece — so it's ready to display at home!
You'll finish this Brighton class with a stunning bespoke lamp and new skills that will help you give your treasured items a second life through upcycling!

- Your teacher can also come straight to you or hold this workshop at The Stanley Road Store upon request. Travel expenses will be added if requesting a mobile workshop at your venue (30-mile radius of Brighton Marina).

I work with stylists and interior designers making custom lights, repair vintage and retro lighting for antique dealers, run lamp making workshops and sell out of many cool shops.
