Splash and Drip Like Jackson Pollock - Splatter Art Workshop

Paint using the full force of your body on a massive canvas. One-on-One Tuition in a private studio.

1.5 hours Class size 1 to 2     label £75

What to Expect:
You'll step into my main studio, where you'll be surrounded by inspiring paintings. We'll have drinks and treats ready for you, along with some relaxing music and fresh flowers on the table. Once you're settled in, we'll chat about the painting process & view some inspiring masters' brief interviews. I'll introduce you to the splatter movement, its origins, and how it all comes together. You'll get to choose your colour palette, with the chance to select at least 5 colours, and even add more if you like.

Then the fun begins! You'll move to the private studio right across from the main one. Here, you can let loose, splashing, splattering, and dripping paint to your heart's content, without worrying about making a mess.

You will have the studio all to yourself! This is not a public or group class; it is exclusively arranged for your personal experience, with a professional artist's guidance, of course.

In this exciting workshop, you will learn how to create your stunning artwork using the iconic techniques of Paul Jackson Pollock. Discover the world of abstract expressionism as you dive into Pollock's distinctive "drip technique, " where you will pour and splash liquid paint onto a canvas.

No prior experience is necessary, and our supportive instructors will alleviate any fears you may have about diving into this dynamic art form. You'll be amazed at how this unorthodox approach allows you to paint from various angles, engaging with the canvas in a truly immersive way.

During this class, we will explore the concept of all-over painting and action painting, as Pollock did. By channelling your energy and embracing the freedom of movement, you will experience the joy of covering the entire canvas with your creation. Critics may have debated the seemingly random effects, but you'll come to appreciate the immediacy and spontaneity of this technique.

All materials are provided in the class, so you can expect a hands-on experience that may evoke a sense of liberation and fulfilment. As you immerse yourself in this artistic journey, you may find yourself feeling energised and inspired by Pollock's bold style.

By the end of this workshop, you'll have gained a deep understanding of Pollock's artistic process and the abstract expressionist movement. And, of course, you will have your very own artwork to take home.

Beyond the visual aesthetics, engaging in splatter, pouring, and drip-and-pour painting techniques, inspired by artists like Jackson Pollock, offers a significant mental health benefit. This creative process provides a unique outlet for releasing stress, promoting mindfulness, and inducing a meditative state. The rhythmic and fluid movements not only lead to visually captivating compositions but also contribute to a sense of calm and emotional well-being, making it a powerful tool for stress relief.

The timing is flexible; just let us know your preferred time, and we can make the necessary arrangements.
