During this painting class, you will unwind and unleash your creativity in an artist's studio as you explore new techniques.

At this watercolour workshop, you will learn techniques as you paint "Birds Of Paradise" as a study. To help you relax as you paint, you'll enjoy soothing music surrounded with artwork for inspiration, along with candles, warm lights and plenty of tea and coffee.

What you'll learn:

All about materials so you understand what to purchase and not waste money on the wrong things.
Methods for diluting your paint.
Techniques for applying watercolour paint to a painting surface.

The artwork on the images is painted by our talented artist Ishbel Fleming-Boyd, a Scottish artist bringing the vibrancy of Botanical beauty to South West London, dedicating herself to the captivating world of flowers and plants.

Producing delicate and beautiful artwork in watercolour, graphite, pen and ink. She creates scientifically accurate representations with exact colour, size and detail. She works from living, moving subjects which adds an intriguing challenge to her craft.

Ishbel will be leading the watercolour class.

Very enjoyable afternoon discovering how to use watercolours. Tutor was very helpful and talked us through how to use the appropriate paper and brushes before letting us loose with the paint. She made sure we all came away with something to show everyone. Great fun

Another great experience with Alma. She took us through the basics of watercolor including tools and techniques, and then had us do a few exercises before starting on the main painting. She can kindly sketched out the painting for us so that all we had to do was focus on the painting. I learned a lot and the atmosphere of the classes is always really fun and relaxing. I would definitely recommend any class with her!

The class was great, there were people of different levels in the class but Alma made sure she catered to everyone and gave each person tailored help. It was a nice size, only 7 of us and a really relaxed atmosphere. She also let us stay late to finish our work which was really nice. As a complete beginner I learnt a lot and really enjoyed it.

An amazing afternoon with alma, learning a new skill. She provides all equipment (as well as teas and coffees and snacks) and the expertise. I found the class of 7 people was the right amount as she was able to spend enough time with each person so that they felt supported.

Alma gave us a good introduction to watercolour technique, how to choose paints and paper, and made our small group very comfortable in her lovely studio. Our work was framed in mounting board straight after our class, and this gave us much inspiration to venture further!

Extremely enjoyable and relaxing class! Alma was very friendly, patient and engaging. She was also hospitable and constantly offered refill of beverages. Learnt some really cool watercolour techniques and and the final piece was nicely framed to take home when completed.
