Whether you want to whip up some treats for a sweet-toothed friend or family member or you simply want to boost your kitchen skills in a relaxed, beginner-friendly environment, come along to this French baking workshop and learn how to create your own beautiful petits gateaux.

These gorgeous little cakes would make a stunning centrepiece for any dinner party or lovely gifts for anyone who needs a little pick-me-up. Learning from Corinne, an experienced pastry chef, you'll enjoy step-by-step tuition as you try your hand at a variety of different baking and decorating techniques.

You will learn how to make a genoise, ganache, and a range of meringue buttercreams. Using these techniques you will then learn to transform a simple sponge into a beautiful work of art worthy of the ones you see sparkling in French patisserie windows.

Corinne will teach you some more traditional techniques, and you can let your inner artist run wild when it comes to decoration. At the end of the class, you'll take away your own box of mouthwatering handmade patisserie to enjoy at home.

Your teacher

My passion for cooking comes from my childhood. I was born on the island of Réunion, a small French colony off the coast of Madagascar. Although my parents moved to France when I was very small, the spirit of the island was very much alive in our home, and especially in our kitchen.

I love introducing a touch of sunshine into my cooking and often add tropical flavours from Réunion to my desserts to give a vibrant twist to the elegant French classics. All the recipes used at Gourmandises Académie are my own, and each one has been developed with time and a lot of love. I’m so happy to have been recognised with three stars in the prestigious Great Taste Awards.

I am excited to share some of these recipes with you and look forward to welcoming you into my home as a student of the Gourmandises Académie.
