If you’re just getting started in the world of crochet and you’re looking to stitch your first project, our six-week course is the perfect opportunity! Master the granny square and hone your crochet techniques with weekly workshops that support your crafting journey.
This workshop series is ideal for a beginner with basic crochet knowledge. You’ll learn how to create five different granny square designs, as well as how to put them together to create a full blanket. Within these designs, you’ll be learning stitches such as the bobble stitch, spike stitch and more!
The Hobbycraft Artisan leading your workshops will be on hand to guide you through the steps of the crochet project, ensuring your confidence blossoms through the weeks. You’ll be able to create each design within the scheduled workshop time, but you’ll need to create the remaining squares between workshops using the skills you’ve learned. This is a great way to get your practice in!
Workshop Overview
Week 1: The Artisan will teach you to master the classic granny square technique.
Week 2: This tutorial will focus on creating the perfect solid granny square.
Week 3: Learn how to spike stitch a square.
Week 4: Try your hand at a textured square.
Week 5: The Artisan will show you how to make a bobble stitch.
Week 6: Build your blanket using all the squares you’ve previously made during the course, joining each one together to complete your colourful granny square blanket.
At the end of the course, you’ll have crafted a beautiful crochet blanket that you can continue to add more squares to, if you wish. You’ll also have gained confidence when it comes to those all-important crochet stitches, ready to take on your next big project.
