Looking to hone your drawing skills? Look no further! Join us for a drawing workshop series designed around helping you master the techniques required to capture your furry friends. You’ll learn key techniques while working from an adorable reference image, gaining skills you can transfer to capture the pets in your life.
The workshops will be led by an expert Hobbycraft Artisan, with three weekly sessions that give you plenty of time to pick up the tips and techniques as you build up your portrait. Throughout the course, you’ll learn how each of the pencils in your kit can be used and how to pick the best one for each step of the drawing process.
You’ll start with a thumbnail sketch, learning about composition for the portrait and how to prepare your image. You’ll then be shown how to use shading, plus experiment with different types of erasers to create highlights and shape as you bring the greyscale masterpiece to life. In the final session, you’ll discover how to add the final touches to complete your animal artwork.
By the end of the workshop series, you’ll have grown your drawing confidence and be equipped with so many different techniques. You can continue to use the drawing materials included in the craft kit to further practice your new skills with pictures of your own pets.
