3 hours total (over 2 dates) Class size 2 to 6     label £60

Ever wanted to know more about glass art? Learn two fusing techniques and create your own floral-inspired triptych with this craft course in Cornwall.

During the first glass fusing class, you will be making your background. Your friendly and supportive teacher will show how to use and apply enamels to create a 'bubble' effect' and how to cut glass panels. These pieces will then be fired in the glass fusing kiln at 830c for around 28 hours.

When you come back for part two, your background will be done and then you can come up with your floral designs. You'll get a refresher on glass cutting so you can confidently select vibrant glass pieces and shape them how you want.

Stick with our wildflower poppy theme or go your own way and shine a light on your favourite flora, whether that's bluebells, daisies or more of a garden look.

Your chosen meadow design will then be added to your background and fused again at 745c for about 22 hours. Once it's finished in the kiln, your art will be ready for collection a few days later.

Take home your stunning triptych and display them with pride, or you could even give them to a loved one as a special handmade gift.

Overlooking the English Channel with views of Looe Island in one direction and Rame Head peninsular in the other, The Glass Shack is situated in a stunning location on the South East Coast of Cornwall.

Having spent most of her working life in corporate finance and business management, Caroline came to work with glass later in life but immediately knew it would be where her future would lie. Mostly self-taught, learning through experimentation and trial and error, she is now happily working alongside her husband, Steve, the “woodmaster” who sources and prepares all the wood bases for the glass pieces.
