This class is more about the history of chocolate than about making chocolate. The instructor shows a slide show on a computer and gives you different types of chocolate to taste. That part was fun if a bit disjointed at times. The practical part of the class was disappointing. I thought we would learn how to mix and make the chocolate (I.e. mixing cocoa with sugar and milk) but that was not the case. While we were allowed to put mix-ins into miles, the chocolate was already pre-made and all we did was pipe it into the molds. Not good value for money. Also, the front store was still open while the class took place leading to a lot of noise and interference while the class took place. Even the instructor noticed the distraction.
Teacher's
response
Dear Katya,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on our History of Chocolate class. We appreciate your honest review and we apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience you experienced during the practical portion of the class.
While our focus for this particular class is on the educational aspect of chocolate history, we do understand that some students may have different expectations when it comes to hands-on chocolate making. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve and refine our class offerings.
We also apologize for the noise and interference caused by the open front store during the class. We strive to provide a distraction-free environment for all our students, and we are sorry that this impacted your experience. We will make adjustments to ensure a quieter and more focused atmosphere for our future classes.
We hope that despite the disappointments, you were still able to enjoy tasting the different types of chocolate and the informative slide show. We value your opinion and will use your feedback to make necessary improvements to our class structure and overall experience.
Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a more satisfying chocolate-making experience in the future.
Warm regards,
Melt

Chocolate making class as a gift from friends
A solid class of 5 people to one teacher, we learnt about how to make chocolate bars.
Our teacher Natalia was friendly but not too super engaging.
I wish our teacher new more about the history behind chocolate too, as there was a PowerPoint with clearly more slides but we only saw a few.
The presentation itself had spelling mistakes and areas which were unfinished leading to a unpolished look overall.
The materials we used were fantastic and overall the chocolate we made was delicious though!
Teacher's
response
Thank you, Isaac, for sharing your experience with us. We truly appreciate your feedback and will make sure to pass it along to Natalia. We're glad you enjoyed the delicious chocolate, and we apologize for any shortcomings in the presentation. We'll work on improving it for future classes. Thank you once again for choosing us for your chocolate-making class.
We hope to see you again soon.

It was a great experience. Would definitely recommend it. Teacher was very friendly. We were provided with all the necessary equipment to take part in making chocolate. It was a balanced session, of giving the basic background of chocolate, lots of tastings and then making 3 bars of chocolate with our own toppings to take home. We were well looked after and had a fantastic day. It would have been a 5 star review but only gava 4 star due to the space being a bit small.

I thought there would be more information, I would like to be told how to heat chocolate and how to properly store the finished product, but in fact there was only information from where the chocolate comes from and that's it.
Teacher's
response
Dear Kostik,
Thank you for your feedback and for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for any confusion caused by the lack of information on how to heat chocolate and how to properly store the finished product. We appreciate your interest in these topics and will make sure to include this information in our future posts.
To heat chocolate, there are a few methods you can use. One common way is to melt chocolate using a double boiler. Simply fill a pot with a small amount of water and bring it to a simmer. Place a heatproof bowl on top of the pot, making sure that the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water. Add the chocolate to the bowl and stir occasionally until it melts.
Another method is to melt chocolate in the microwave. Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave it in short intervals, stirring in between each interval, until it is completely melted.
As for storing the finished chocolate product, it is best to keep it in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Avoid storing it in the refrigerator, as the moisture can cause the chocolate to develop a whitish color known as "bloom." If you need to keep the chocolate for a longer period of time, you can wrap it tightly and store it in an airtight container.
We hope this information is helpful to you, and we apologize again for any inconvenience caused by the lack of information in our previous content. If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for your understanding.
