Hi, I am here to teach you visible mending to re-story and repair your loved pieces. I will help you to celebrate the rips, stains, frays and moth holes that come from loving and wearing your favourite pieces of clothing. I will share my hand-embroidery, weaving and darning techniques to inspire you to create unique repairs. I have been working in the fashion industry for 25+ yrs and am passionate about keeping clothes in circulation.

Very nice and friendly workshop. We went through different techniques & practiced. If it was a bit longer we could have fixed some garments we brought with us there was time for the teacher to see the garment and suggest what to do, get started & finish at home… all tools and materials provided.

I’ll definitely go back to a different class!

I recently had the pleasure of attending a visible mending class with Tessa, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The class size was small, with only 4 people, which made for an intimate and personalised learning experience. The venue was fantastic - it was comfortable and relaxing. Tessa brought all the necessary equipment and materials for the class.

This class was a special birthday treat for a group of friends, and we were all excited to learn more about visible mending. Tessa was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her craft. She provided lots of one-on-one help and guidance, which was extremely helpful for a sewing beginner like me.

Tessa brought examples of her with her. Seeing these pieces in person really helped to inspire us and gave us a good idea of what was possible. Tessa was also very calm, friendly, and supportive.

One of the best things about this class was that it wasn't just about mending garments. We also learned how to creatively embroider while fixing stuff, which was a great bonus. Tessa showed us how to incorporate different stitches and colours to make our mending more interesting and visually appealing. She encouraged us to experiment with our designs and to be creative while fixing our garments. We were able to take away our sample to help with our mending projects later.

In addition to the great class itself, Tessa was very good at communicating before the class. She was quick to reply to my initial enquiry and even organized a class shortly after. This made the whole process easy and stress-free.

Overall, I would highly recommend this visible mending class to anyone interested in learning a new craft. The small class size, personalised attention, and great teacher made for a truly enjoyable experience. I left feeling inspired and excited to put my new skills into practice!

I loved the whole thing, but I do think it is not a class for the complete sewing novice. A bit frustrating not to be able to finish.
Tessa is a wonderful teacher, relaxed, charming and helpful.
Can’t wait to learn more and get started at home.
