What you'll do

Get ready to dive into the ancient craft of basket weaving with this online weaving class and kit! Throughout this workshop, you will be taught how to create a traditional willow shopping basket. Ideal for beginners, you'll learn everything from the basics of weaving to more complex techniques, all from the comfort of your own home and completed at your own pace.

Don't worry if you're feeling nervous about weaving, this class has been specifically designed to cater to beginners like you. You'll have lifetime access to the video course, created by a group of BAFTA-winning filmmakers, plus all the materials you need will be delivered to your doorstep.

What you'll get in your craft kit

In your kit: three bunches of high-quality buff willow weaving rods in different sizes (all sustainably grown in Somerset), a special soaking bag (you use this to soak your willow for a couple of hours before weaving) and special materials for weaving the handle.

What you'll need

We design all our projects to be done with minimal tools. You'll need a pair of garden secateurs or snippers - that's all.
Your shopping basket will take about 4 hours to complete. You can either do this in one long afternoon session or you can split it up into three shorter sessions on separate days.
