Still Life Painting Workshop

In this rewarding still-life art workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting. Still life is a great way to learn how to paint as well as a being a wonderful way to unwind. If you're on the hunt for relaxing things to do in London, come and join this art class and forget about everything else beyond mixing colour and getting it all down on the canvas!

You'll be starting with drawing skills. Learn how to measure and understand the ‘shape’ of composition, tonal values and perspective with easy, enjoyable exercises that are not only fun but set a firm foundation in how to draw basics.

Once you feel confident with your pencil technique, you’ll then be walked through colour mixing and how to prepare a palette, how to use oil colour (or acrylic), brushwork and placing colour on the canvas.

Your friendly teacher will give continual demonstrations throughout the workshop and work at your individual pace. Don’t worry if you’ve only had limited experience, this workshop is for beginners with plenty of 1-2-1 tuition. You'll enjoy a relaxed, gentle environment where we approach each exercise with a sense of play.

• Materials provided (£18)

• A basic range of oil colour paints or acrylic paints: i.e. red, yellow, blue and white.
• A3 sketch pad.
• Palette.
• Palette knife.
• Pencil (2b/3b).
• Canvas (canvas board or ready made).
• Brushes selection of flats/filberts/small round etc.
