Spanish Cooking Class

Immerse yourself in the vibrant flavours and enticing aromas of Spain during this immersive one-day workshop at The Edinburgh New Town Cookery School. Unravel the secrets behind the mouthwatering and colourful dishes that have made Spanish cuisine world-renowned.

Your Spanish cooking class will kick off with tea or coffee to sip on as you watch a handy demonstration from your passionate teacher. You'll pick up some cooking techniques and recipes that you can try yourself.

In the morning, you will dive into the captivating world of tapas. Bring these small plates to life in the kitchen and indulge in your handmade feast for lunch— perfectly paired with a glass of wine. In the afternoon, you'll venture further into the realm of Spanish cooking, as you craft some other favourites to take home with you.

Share the fun of this tasty cooking class in Edinburgh with your pals. Your teacher can offer private groups the opportunity to learn side by side with your loved ones.

During this class, you may learn to cook the following (subject to change):
Demonstration

• Tortilla
• Prawns with Romesco Sauce (Gambas con Salsa Romesco)
• Fried Padron Peppers (Pimientos de Padron)

• Gazpacho
• Broad Bean, Ham and Quails Egg Salad (Habas con jamón y huevos de codorniz)
• Meatballs in Spicy Tomato Sauce (Albondigas con Salsa Picante)
• Empanada (a Galician speciality – yeasted pastry enclosing pork, chorizo and peppers)

• The recipes made in this class contain gluten and eggs and are not suitable for vegetarians or vegans (please note this list is not exhaustive).
• Please let us know of any dietary requirements, allergies or special accommodations required at the time of booking. We will be as flexible as possible when we can, so as to be inclusive to all students but we may not be able to substitute ingredients in the recipes.
• We do everything we can to reduce the risk of cross-contamination, however, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment and therefore our kitchens may be unsuitable for students with severe or life-threatening allergies.

• Our one-day workshops and short courses are 16+ unless otherwise specified. Children aged 14 or 15 may attend with an adult over 18.
• On the day, please arrive 15 minutes before your workshop is due to start.

• All ingredients and equipment needed to make your tapas lunch to enjoy with a glass of wine.
• Dishes to take home.
