What you'll do
The perfect fitting pair of trousers can be an enigma to many of us, but how can we expect shops or patterns to fit everyone when all our bodies are all so different? With this pattern cutting class, you will create a trouser block that fits you and only you and you can use it to make perfectly fitting trousers every time!
Perfect for those with some sewing experience. During this class, you will be guided by an expert as you learn step-by-step new skills, techniques and tips.
What you'll learn:
- We'll show you how to accurately measure your waist, hips and legs and we will use the measurements to make a trouser pattern block to fit your exact body shape.
- You will make your first pattern from it adding seam allowances and markings.
- Make a calico toile to check the fit and make any necessary adjustments to your block.
- We will discuss how to adjust your block to make different designs and how to use it to adjust the fit of commercial patterns.
By the end of this pattern-cutting course, you will walk away with a trouser block to help you make bespoke fitting pants for you and you only!

Your teacher
Make Mee Studio is run by Tracey & Jaime. We are two enthusiastic life long sewers (both sewing since were 7 & 5 years old!) We love sharing our making skills with others. We have over 10 years of combined teaching experience working with children and adults.
We offer sewing lesson, alterations, makes and commissions in our Brockley-based studio and are active in our local community offering workshops to anyone and everyone who will sit down at a sewing machine with us!
