What you'll do
Want to learn how to sew but don't know where to start? Go from zero to sewing hero at our five-week sewing course for beginners in our studio in South London.
We’ll start strong by learning how to use the sewing machine and completing our first project in the very first session. You’ll get to choose between making a cushion cover or a tote bag to whip up and take home.
We’ll then get to grips with a variety of techniques that you will use throughout your sewing life, including patchwork, appliqué, sewing zips, buttons, and buttonholes, and more. You’ll then get to use your new skills to tackle a homeware or accessories project of your choosing, based on our collection of patterns.
You’ll leave this course with the foundational skills and confidence to move forward on your creative path, along with at least two unique projects to cherish and show off with pride!

Knowledge required
No previous sewing experience is needed.
What you'll get
All sewing tools and equipment will be provided. We'll also provide you with cushion inserts if you opt to sew the cushion cover.
What to bring
You will need two pieces of 1m x 1m woven fabric, such as mid-weight cotton, linen, canvas, etc. You can also purchase this from us on the day.

Your teacher
Make Mee Studio is run by Tracey & Jaime. We are two enthusiastic life long sewers (both sewing since were 7 & 5 years old!) We love sharing our making skills with others. We have over 10 years of combined teaching experience working with children and adults.
We offer sewing lesson, alterations, makes and commissions in our Brockley-based studio and are active in our local community offering workshops to anyone and everyone who will sit down at a sewing machine with us!
