2 hours Class size 1 to 8 (public classes), 6 to 10 label £27

This session we'll be making our own macrame plant hangers from a variety of cords and recycled T-shirts. You'll learn all the macrame knots you'll need to make a variety of different designs, and you should leave with one finished piece and a few instructional sheets to make more at home.

Suitable for over 15s.

This workshop will take place in Butlers at Kirkstall Forge. There's a train station on-site, and Kirkstall Forge wants to encourage sustainability, but if you'd like a parking space, let me know, and we can get one arranged.

Please don't arrive more than 10 minutes in advance unless previously discussed.

Course conditions:

The workshop needs minimum numbers to run. In the unlikely event it doesn't meet this, the workshop will be cancelled. Your booking is secured by payment, and if you choose to cancel, you get a refund up to 2 days before the event; however, after that, no refund can be given.

Travelling workshops run by Kim Searle.

All my workshops are based on encouraging sustainability, building community and supporting attendees well-being. I am passionate about ensuring craft sessions are accessible to all, providing discounts on most courses for people on low/no incomes, seeking out venues that are wheelchair accessible and ensuring that workshops are calming with more of an emphasis on enjoyment and new skills over perfection.

I also run workshops at festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, End of the Road, Underneath the Stars, Deershed, Wychwood Cornbury, Greenbelt, Just So, Beacons, FarmFest, BeatHerder and more!

I studied BA (Hons) Textile Crafts at the University of Huddersfield, specialising in textile printing. I’ve also studied weaving, felting, bookbinding, dark room photography and fine art printing at L'Ecole des Beaux Artes at Besancon, The Academy of Design in Kuopio and Leeds University, as well as studying a range of creative techniques on a foundation course at UcCA Canterbury.
