What you'll do
Looking for ways to bring a sense of calm and beauty to your space? Come along to this Japanese flower arranging class and learn the fundamentals of ikebana from an experienced practitioner.
Nono is an Ikebana instructor and she will take you through the principles of making an Ikebana arrangement, including the selection of vessel and flower (stem), as well as how to maintain your arrangement.
In contrast to flower arrangement, Ikebana constitutes the ‘aesthetics of subtraction’, by using a minimum of flowers and plants. Ikebana represents the preciousness of life in addition to its splendour.
The flowers, vessel and a kenzan (flower frog) used in your arrangement will be yours to take away at the end of the workshop, and you'll also have plenty of tea and cake to keep you satisfied throughout your experience.
