Join our lively collective of crafters and artists in Edinburgh and learn top tips from a group of icon painters as well as your talented teacher. Share your ideas, learn from the community, and discover new skills in this engaging and collaborative environment.
You will learn the basics of the technique and traditional styles of icon painting. Which include:
- Composition skills used in icon painting.
- The Byzantine and Russian styles of the art form.
- How to prepare egg yolk binding medium.
- Learning how to make paints from dry pigments.
- How to work with thin layers.
- Egg tempera brushwork.
- Dry brushwork.
