What you'll do
Ready to tackle that pile of clothes that aren't quite right or need a repair? Whether you want to fix a garment, alter a skirt, or transform a dress into a top or cover up a stain, Jen will teach you the skills to bring new life to your wardrobe. This class is now extended to 3 hours due to your feedback!
Each drop in class will be different, depending on what you and others in the group bring to upcycle! This class is a friendly, relaxed enviornment in which you'll learn how to repair or upcycle not only your own garments, but pick up hints and tricks from what others are working on too.
You'll gain essential sewing knowledge and practical tips to build your confidence transforming old garments into new! Join us for one or more sessions.
Please note: this venue is accessed by stairs and has no lift.

Knowledge required
Suitable for complete beginners and those returning to sewing who need a refresher.If you've never used a sewing machine before, or would like a refersher, please add the option to arrive 30 mins earlier for an introduction to using the machines!

All of the materials and tools you need to upcycle or repair your garments.

Ideas & tips on what to bring:- garments with stains or hole
- garments with ripped seams
- garments that you want to change the fit of
- garments that you want to change the shape of
- any other garments that need to be repaired / changed for you to get better use out of them!

The Studio is well serviced by lots of bus routes: 1, 4, 5, 19, 26, 34, 35, 44, 45, 113, 124, X5, X6, X7. A small car park is available. Abbeymount is an old Victorian building and the studio is accessed by stairs.

I am a sustainable fashion designer from Dublin, now based in Edinburgh. I studied Fashion Design in Ireland before coming to Scotland to do a Masters in Sustainable & Ethical Fashion.
My work uses exclusively vintage and reclaimed materials in a bid to showcase the beauty of reuse!
I really enjoy teaching people and sharing in the joy of creating, upcycling and making unique pieces.
