In this lovely nature-filled full-day workshop, you will be creating beautiful jewellery from the amazing combination of Mother Nature and silver clay.
You will use various items of nature, such as leaves, seed heads, sea-shells, and make moulds and use different techniques with the silver clay. You will turn them into beautiful solid silver jewellery that you will be able to wear home proudly.
All materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own samples from nature to use, but we will have plenty of pieces available.
Our instructor, Louise, is fully qualified as a senior tutor and holds an Art Clay Higher Diploma and has been teaching jewellery making for over ten years.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced jeweller, Louise is on hand to help you create your own nature design from silver clay. You'll be guided by Louise to help you make your pieces for you to treasure and take away! Louise has a relaxed, informal approach with the aim of having fun as well as learning and creating lovely pieces of jewellery. Please come and experience the course yourself and add a new item to your jewellery collection!
What actually happens on the course?
Louise will introduce you to this amazing material, silver clay, and will explain how the clay will become solid silver pieces of beautiful jewellery by the end of your course. She will explain how the pieces of nature will be incorporated into the designs by creating moulds or actually firing into the silver clay.
She has many nature items and ideas for creating wonderful designs from the clay. Louise will then show you how to fire your pieces. This process removes particles in the clay to leave a solid silver piece. You will then polish your creations. This whole process never ceases to amaze people, transforming a piece of silver clay into a final polished solid silver jewellery piece for you to show off with pride.
On a full-day course, you will make 3 to 4 pieces of jewellery, depending on the size of your pieces. Typical pieces are charms, pendants, and earrings.
Silver clay is an environmentally-friendly recycled product, which when fired, becomes solid silver of Hallmark quality.

I began my journey into Silver Metal clay whilst running a pottery studio and soon became hooked! The magic of turning a piece of clay into a solid piece of Hallmark Silver never fails to amaze me and I love sharing this with my students and helping them create a lovely piece of jewellery that they can wear proudly home makes my job the best.
I hold a Higher Diploma in Silver Metal Clay and am a senior metal clay instructor and glass teacher. I have been teaching for over ten years running classes from my studio in Market Bosworth and many jewellery schools and galleries all around the Midlands area. I am a member of The Guild of Jewellers and am on the education committee of the alliance of metal clay. I also hold a Gold student choice award. One of my proudest moments was visiting Tokyo and seeing one of my pieces displayed in the Silver Accessories Exhibition.
I would love to meet you on one of my courses so please book as soon as you can.
