We did a glass plate with more glass added to make pictures which she took away to ‘fuse’ and bend to either a curve or a wave. I would highly recommend this fun and relaxing experience. I took my two daughters to celebrate their birthdays for a pottery taster session and we had a great time making our pots which turned out reallyI would highly recommend this fun and relaxing experience. I took my two daughters to celebrate their birthdays for a pottery taster session and we had a great time making our pots which turned out really well (with the patient and expert advice of Hazel who gave us step by step tuition and kept our creations on track when they went a bit wonky!). It was a lovely thing to do together as one of my daughters now lives in Spain. We can't wait to collect our works of art once they have been through the kiln. + more

What a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon! From the moment I arrived, I felt really well looked after. Steve’s assistant had the teas and coffees on the go, and the whole atmosphereWhat a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday afternoon! From the moment I arrived, I felt really well looked after. Steve’s assistant had the teas and coffees on the go, and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming from the start. Steve himself was very amiable and helpful — just a genuinely nice bloke. He was happy to chat about everyone’s individual cooking experience and what they were hoping to get from the course. Questions were always thoughtfully answered, with plenty of useful suggestions and tips along the way. I’ve been dabbling in BIR cooking for a few years now, yet I still came away having learned some great new tips and techniques. Best of all, the balti we cooked was wonderful — exactly the sort of flavour I’ve been trying to recreate at home. The class was very relaxed and friendly. All the spices and liquid ingredients had been prepared in advance and portioned out for each table, leaving us to chop the onion and chicken, slice the pepper and chillies, and prepare the salad. Vegetarian alternatives were also available. Steve cooked alongside us in the centre of the class, so it was simply a case of following his lead. We started by cooking the rice and leaving it to rest, then flame-grilled some papadums before moving on to the balti itself. Throughout the cooking, Steve regularly walked around the room checking everyone’s progress and answering questions while somehow still keeping tabs on his own cooking! Once the balti was finished and the salad prepared, it was time to enjoy the results. You could either sit down and eat your meal there or take it home, with takeaway containers provided. To sum up, this was a really enjoyable and informative course that I’d strongly recommend. It doesn’t matter whether you’re completely new to cooking or already a dab hand — there’s something here for everyone to enjoy and learn from. Would I do it again? 100%. + more
