Fun Metalwork classes in London
If you’re keen to put the pedal to the metal and try out a brand new activity or hobby, our range of metalwork classes in London will let you learn some fabulous fresh crafting skills and help all of your blacksmithing dreams come true! Whether you’re searching for unique birthday party ideas (because nothing says ‘many happy returns’ like a hammer making session!), quirky team building activities or you’re just keen to try a more adventurous craft, we’ve got you covered with a range of metalwork classes and welding workshops across the whole of London. And if you’re a bit wobbly with wire or you’ve never set foot in a forge before, don’t worry – our talented teachers have got plenty of soldering skills to share, and will make sure you’re in safe hands for the whole session!
Metalwork for beginners
Looking for fun things to do in London? Maybe you’re a crafting pro who’d like to take your creative skills to the next level with something a bit more bold? Whether you’re a London local planning an extra exciting birthday party, or you’re heading to the capital on a weekend break and want to fill an afternoon with something a bit different, a metalwork class could be just what you’re looking for. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never wrangled with wire before – our craft classes are beginner friendly and suitable for all skill levels, so everyone can join in!
Metalwork and blacksmithing might not seem like hobbies you can just dip into, but whether you’re interested in crafting delicate metal wall hangings or going big with a little hammer making, our metalwork classes in London can help to kick start your creative journey. Wherever you are in the capital, our talented teachers and professional blacksmiths are just waiting to pass on their crafty know-how; from teaching you basic welding skills and showing you how to work with metal, to guiding you through different wire techniques, they’ll coach you through the entire creative process!
What to expect at London metalwork classes
Dreaming of whipping up some wonderful wire wall art in Wandsworth? Maybe you’d like to have fun at a forge in Fulham or create some metal sculptures for the garden in Greenwich? Wherever you are in the big city, we’ve got a metalwork class in your area that will help transform you from a wire art amateur into a full blown blacksmith in a single afternoon – all you need to bring is your enthusiasm!
Whichever metalwork class you opt for, you’ll begin your exciting London activity in the same way – with a super warm welcome from your talented teacher and a quick meet-and-greet with your fellow creatives. You’ll be given a brief overview of the history of your chosen craft, followed by an all-important health and safety talk and a full demonstration of the metalwork tools – vital if you’re going to be wielding a welding torch! Once the introduction is over, it’s time to don the apron and get properly stuck into your blacksmith experience under the full guidance of your teacher. They’ll stay on hand through the whole session to make sure you don’t have any metalworking mishaps, and you’ll finish the workshop with either a useful tool or a beautiful piece of art for your home or garden.
Metalwork is great for your wellbeing
Feeling stressed out? Whether you’ve been working a bit too hard or you just need a break from the daily grind, studies have shown that spending time getting creative can do the world of good. Immersing yourself in a new hobby or learning a new skill such as metalwork helps to keep your brain healthy, which in turn can alleviate stress and anxiety, boost mood and make you feel a whole lot calmer. What better reason to enrol in a craft class than that?
Metalwork and blacksmithing might not seem like the most relaxing hobbies, but we think they definitely have soul soothing properties. After all, gathering around a warm fire in the heart of a forge to create something beautiful with your own two hands is a great way to switch off from the outside world – when you’re busy hammering hot metal, you’re definitely not going to be worrying about that work deadline!
