What you'll do
Whether you've got an idea that you want to bring to life or you're on the lookout for unique things to do in London, this three-day metalworking course offers a whole new way to express your creative side.
Hosted by an experienced metal artist, you'll enjoy a combination of live demonstrations and hands-on learning as you get to grips with MIG and arc welding techniques, as well as grinding, rolling, bending and cutting to really get the most out of your material of choice.
Don't worry if this is your first time working with metal, as you'll have plenty of one-on-one time with your tutor to discuss any ideas, ask questions and make sure you're picking everything up.
You'll leave the course brimming with newfound knowledge on this exciting craft, as well as everything you've created during the workshop to being home with you and display with pride.

Knowledge required
No sculpture experience is required. Advanced students will continue personal projects and research new techniques and processes.

Silvina Soria
Silvina obtained her degree as Sculpture Professor at The Fine Arts School Prilidiano Pueyrredon in 2002. After specialising in welding and blacksmithing, she obtained a master in Contemporary Sculpture at Ernesto de la Carcova Postgraduate School, both in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

London Sculpture Workshop is an independent sculpture studio in Woolwich, South East London, located within Thames Side Studios, offering exceptional facilities for artists and those interested in making three-dimensional work.
Our short course programme covers a wide variety of technical and skill-based processes, taught by practising artists in superbly equipped workshops. We teach a range of skills including welding, casting, mould making, metal and woodwork, ceramics and hot metal practices.
London Sculpture Workshop is a not-for-profit, community interested company, established in 2012 by artists Giles Corby and Jessica Mello, trained at Royal College of Art and Slade. LSW has partnered with a number of prestigious organisations including; The British Museum, The Crafts Council, CRISIS, The Architecture Association and Oxford Brooke's University. In 2013 and 2014 LSW was awarded the Chelsea Arts Club Trust ‘Artist Run Space Award’ and awarded a grant for our work from the Mayor of London in 2016.
