London Sculpture Workshop is an independent sculpture studio in Woolwich, South East London, located within Thames Side Studios, offering exceptional facilities for artists and those interested in making three-dimensional work.

Our short course programme covers a wide variety of technical and skill-based processes, taught by practising artists in superbly equipped workshops. We teach a range of skills including welding, casting, mould making, metal and woodwork, ceramics and hot metal practices.

London Sculpture Workshop is a not-for-profit, community interested company, established in 2012 by artists Giles Corby and Jessica Mello, trained at Royal College of Art and Slade. LSW has partnered with a number of prestigious organisations including; The British Museum, The Crafts Council, CRISIS, The Architecture Association and Oxford Brooke's University. In 2013 and 2014 LSW was awarded the Chelsea Arts Club Trust ‘Artist Run Space Award’ and awarded a grant for our work from the Mayor of London in 2016.

Great fun. Plenty of support from a very enthusiastic, interested and encouraging tutor in Silvina. Good selection of materials and good kit and facilities. I was allowed to get on with my project in my own way with my own ideas with free range of the kit and materials but Silvina was always on hand, when required, to provide materials and kit and to sort out my mistakes.
I learnt a great deal and came away with the knowledge and also anartefact that has lifted the bar in respect of my own efforts at home.

I surprised my boyfriend with a Christmas gift – a metal welding introduction for artists, and we had a blast! The teacher was skilled and lovely, making the experience very enjoyable. The venue's stunning views of the Thames barrier added a touch of magic, creating great vibes throughout. I learned a lot and it was definitely good value. A great class would definitely recommend!

Teacher was fantastic for what was offered and in 3 days only. Gave me a lot of confidence to try it out on my own machine at home.

She seemed to really be passionate about welding and it shows with how she taught us to be creative not only with the project itself, but with the tools to support our vision.

Teacher was friendly, knowledgeable, clear and helpful. I had less luck with my materials for the major piece. I hope I can glue it together. It might be good to move the life casting to the Saturday afternoon so the cast is more likely to dry out.

Lots of useful info, got to practise every step of the way with a good balance of guidance and independence. Unfortunately you do not get to design your own furniture piece, you select one of a few designs that have been pre-selected by the teacher. But we had a small group so he was able to help us customise them quite a lot.

The teacher, Andrew, was helpful and easy to learn from, encouraging us throughout. Workshop has plenty of space and all the equipment and materials necessary were provided. Good structure to the session, first learning some theory, a practical demonstration and then being allowed to practice for ourselves. Got to take home our finished work as well.
