2.5 hours Class size 1 to 5 (public classes), 6 to 10 label £35

Create your own miniature plant pots with artist and maker Kim Searle using a variety of geometric and recycled moulds. Jesmonite was named Material of the Year 2017; have a go and see why! It's a versatile material that will create a different pot every time - you'll learn how to weigh it, mix it, add colours and textural effects to create a pot unique to you. Pots can be made with pale pastels or vibrant colours, block colours or fantastic marbled effects. You will get to try a type of Jesmonite that will set by the end of the session.

The workshop will take place at The Craft Barn, a beautiful and airy space in Hadfield!

Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before the workshop. If you have symptoms of COVID or have been in close contact with anyone who has, let me know, and I can put you onto a future workshop.

Venue details:

The room we'll be in is up a flight of stairs, so is sadly not wheelchair accessible. However, if this is an issue, let me know in advance, and I'll see if we can move downstairs.

Course conditions:

The workshop needs minimum numbers to run. In the unlikely event it doesn't meet this, the workshop will be cancelled. Your booking is secured by payment, and if you choose to cancel, you get a refund up to 2 days before the event. However, after that, no refund can be given.

Travelling workshops run by Kim Searle.

All my workshops are based on encouraging sustainability, building community and supporting attendees well-being. I am passionate about ensuring craft sessions are accessible to all, providing discounts on most courses for people on low/no incomes, seeking out venues that are wheelchair accessible and ensuring that workshops are calming with more of an emphasis on enjoyment and new skills over perfection.

I also run workshops at festivals including Glastonbury, Green Man, End of the Road, Underneath the Stars, Deershed, Wychwood Cornbury, Greenbelt, Just So, Beacons, FarmFest, BeatHerder and more!

I studied BA (Hons) Textile Crafts at the University of Huddersfield, specialising in textile printing. I’ve also studied weaving, felting, bookbinding, dark room photography and fine art printing at L'Ecole des Beaux Artes at Besancon, The Academy of Design in Kuopio and Leeds University, as well as studying a range of creative techniques on a foundation course at UcCA Canterbury.
