This pottery class is ideal for complete beginners and will teach you the basic steps to throwing a pot on the wheel. Come along with your family or friends and learn to make pottery together. You'll be guided throughout your pottery making by a friendly and experienced local teacher who will take you through the wheel throwing process step by step.

During this pottery throwing workshop, you'll gain a basic understanding of pottery, including types of clay, throwing methods and the firing process. With expert guidance and support from your experienced ceramic artist teacher, you will get hands-on with your own clay creation and make something awesome to keep.

Following your pottery class, your ceramic masterpiece will be fired and glazed by your pottery teacher ready for collection in around three weeks.

By the end of your workshop, you'll have gained some brilliant foundational pottery skills and you'll head home with increased confidence and a great sense of accomplishment having created your very own pot.
What you'll get
Your clay creation to keep
Following your class, your pottery will be dried, bisque fired, dip-glazed in white and have a final glost firing.
Your work will be available to collect 3 weeks after your course. Please note that we will only hold work for 3 months.
During term time we are open for collections each Wednesday morning (10am – 12noon), Thursday afternoons (2-4pm) and Thursday evenings (6.30-8.30pm). Unfortunately we cannot offer collection on weekends as this would disturb students during their throwing lessons. Please feel free to call in at any of these times.
