Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

I treated my mum as she doesn't get out much and used to love doing crafts, but hasn't had the time recently. I too love crafts and used to do a lot with my children when they were little. Now they are older and not as interested I wanted to do something for myself.
Loved the wreath making and our teacher was fab. Very personable, lots of lovely ideas and very patient.
I will definitely be booking more classes in the future.

Relatively new to sewing/dressmaking, I tried to make buttonholes by myself but got very stuck and jammed up my machine. I booked the one-to-one to learn how to make buttonholes (which I did with and without the buttonhole foot) and how to clean and maintain my machine. Tasha (the “original Tasha” at Hull - there are two) was lovely, friendly and helpful. She demonstrated and let me have a go, explaining everything clearly step by step. I would definitely book again for help on a project. The only issue was that the machine in store had an automatic buttonhole feature that mine doesn’t, so I’d like to have been allowed to take my own. I have learned enough that I’ll be able to do a buttonhole manually though.

I booked this class for my 13 year old daughter. Tasha was an excellent teacher, very patient and friendly and explained everything very clearly. Would definitely recommend this session if you have a new sewing machine and need some help getting started.

As a gift for Christmas I booked for my mum and mother in law and myself to learn how to crochet. The quality of wool and hook was brilliant quality and to have a bag to keep everything in was a lovely touch.

Natasha (the teacher) was amazing, so helpful, kind and extremely patient if we didn't understand. I really would recommend getting a class with her.
She was lovely and friendly and very easy to talk too which made the time fly.

Teacher was very helpful, gave good instructions making the Father christmas and reindeer.
Materials were good quality and had enough to make not just the Father Christmas and reindeer, but also a snowman and a christmas tree.
My daughter and I had a great time and even though it was supposed to be a 30 minute session, we were able to stay longer and finish the additional models.
Would definitely recommend and very reasonably priced.

Good air clay modelling workshop for 4 and 7 yr old. Tasha very patiently explained what to do at each stage and was happy to catch anyone up who got left behind. Having completed versions of what we were making as a visual aid was really useful. Good quality materials.

I thought this was a lovely class and really enjoyed it. The teacher was very helpful and kind, which was good as I had a few problems with the wire! The materials were very good, although it was quite difficult to attach the oranges with wire and it may have been better to have more berries. I think it would have been useful to have had a finished wreath to use as an example for those people who are not so naturally creative and I also feel that a coloured ribbon would have added a nicer touch than the hessian for the bow.

Tasha was very helpful and clear with the Crochet instructions, she was very easy to ask questions too and put me at ease.
All the staff I met were helpful and friendly. Dave also helped with the workshop and Michelle popped to say Hello.
The materials I used were very easy to work with and now I know the best ones to start out with.
The workshop was definately good value for money as I learnt how to Crochet.

Another really pleasant and useful workship with Jen at Hull. Today we learned how to prepare and insert a zip. It's all in the preparation. We also learned the 'Tailor's Knot' (Tailor's Tangle!) for simple hand stitching too.

The tuition space in the Hull store is spacious and relaxing, and anything you need to buy is right there.

We think very highly of this tuition, and highly recommend it to anyone learning how to sew with a machine. Thank you, Jen!

Jen our ‘teacher’ was excellent- so friendly, kind and very good at explaining in a calm manner.
The store was a good environment for the class and lots of options for crafts and art supplies.
All staff we spoke to/ had contact with were really friendly.
Learnt how to set the machine up, how to adjust the settings and had the opportunity to put my new learning to the test (I am an absolute beginner).
Would recommend the lesson to any other new beginner.

Jen took me through the basics of sewing with my new Necchi Pro sewing machine - loading up the thread, selecting a stitch type and length, first few practice seams. As a group we enjoyed it, the 'teacher' was very quiet and didn't really give much direction. It would of been nice to be told how long we had to do the activity, instead of just times up. There was plenty of supplies which we took home.

Louise is very knowledgeable and such a friendly warm person.
I was learning the basics and it was brilliant, can highly recommend going in for the workshop.
Louise explain the differences between all the vinyl and how to get design on to the fabric, wood, mug. Gave clear demonstration with step by step as I'm new, it was gratefully appreciated. We went for a design on fabric and had a go with a heat press.

Louise was great and really helpful. Unfortunately the internet connection wasn't stable and she had trouble connecting to be able to show us a lot. To be fair she did offer another session free of charge but after I've driven (45 minutes) I'm not sure it would be worth it.

Beth was so friendly and really engaging with the children. Her explanations were great and she was very patient whilst making sure everyone knew what they were doing. The craft activity was fun and the product to take home was very cute. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely fabulous. Couldn’t recommend it enough. My son was quite shy at first and reluctant to join in but Bethany our teacher was fabulous and he throughly enjoyed himself. It was the first time we’ve done any of these craft workshops and I didn’t know what to expect. It far surpassed our expectations and we will definitely book onto more. Great value for money and my son came away with a massive smile on his face and he said how much he’d enjoyed himself.

The biggest waste of £15. No desk top computer so no print and cut, no foiling help. When I asked for help the member of staff use the online help on the cricut software. I can do that myself? I have more experience then the staff member. I took the afternoon off work as you don't do weekend workshops I'm fuming. The information I was given I could have just walked into store for free and asked the same questions.

I recently attended the paint pouring workshop at Hobbycraft, Hull, which was an excellent and enlightening experience. The venue was excellent and the tutor, Louise, was excellent and had patience and able to explain in detail the techniques involved as well as being able to answer enquiries. I created a couple of canvases and was pleased with the results. The box of equipment provided with this course was excellent value for money and of good quality. Overall, I would highly recommend this course to anyone with an interest in the techniques of paint pouring. I also purchased "The Art of Paint Pouting" book from the store afterwards, which I highly recommend.

such a delighful girl. cool pleasant venue. not only did i learn what i was doing wrong ,I learnt lots ofhints to sew in the future. i might learn to be friends with my machine. The lady took me back to basics cirrected my faults then moved onto more complex things. it was fun! very much value for money abd wiuld highly recommend to anyone .

I really enjoyed this class - It ended up being a one to one with the amazing Bethany. She made me feel very comfortable all the way through the class, was really encouraging and patient.

The materials provided were good but I couldn't get on with the square frame to start with so Bethany kindly found me some monks cloth to use in an embroidery circle. I found this much easier and made lots of progress.

I was not expecting to come away with a finished product (and I didn't) - but what I can away with was just as valuable. I came away having practiced with different needles, different sized loops and how to punch accurately and in neat row and circles.

I will definitely keep practicing and am looking forward to finishing my first piece.

Bethany the workshop instructor was fantastic. She made such an effort with the children. She taught them the basics of painting in a really fun way. They learned how to mix different colours and how to clean their brushes. The class was really nice and relaxed.
The children had lots of fun and they was very excited to bring their ceramics home. Exceeded expectations. Will definitely book again!

The lady who gave the one to one tutorial was lovely.
I don’t think that the tutorial itself was good value for money though.
I bought my cricut maker, a selection or vinyl and lots of tools and accessories, it cost almost £500, which for me is a lot of money. I chose to buy from hobbycraft instead of other companies selling them at that time because hobbycraft offered a free beginners in store tutorial.
At the time however the country was in chaos and most businesses were closed. As a result I had to wait until hobbycraft to reopen before I could have my free tutorial which was fine and understandable. After contacting hobbycraft by email to request my tutorial I was told that free tutorials were no longer available? I was very upset and disappointed having spent such a huge sum of money.

Unfortunately I was turned away as the member of staff didn’t know I was attending. Despite being able to prove the booking the member of staff had already started a one to one class with someone else who looked horrified at the thought of someone else joining in. It was explained to me that appointments had been moved in order to accommodate the other ladies lesson. The member of staff took my name and phone number and I haven’t heard back since. I mean, I had obviously booked in otherwise I wouldn’t have had the email and text reminders and the ability to write a review.
Bitterly disappointed, it takes along time to get to my nearest hobbycraft and this was my first workshop with you

A lovely experience to build a Christmas advent with a beautifully wrapped kit. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. However the time allowed was far too short for the task and it will require several extra coats of paint and hours than suggested. Lovely workshop just too brief!

Highly recommended wonderful Christmas wreath making class! Michelle was an excellent teacher who patiently guided and encouraged me in the session. I liked the convenient venue in the store, with well lit area and plenty of space for crafting. The generous materials provided were of very good quality, including a handy mini glue gun with refills. The class was a good value for money. This was my first experience of making Christmas wreath, so there was a lot to learn! Thanks to Michelle’s help I now feel more confident experimenting, arranging and combining different materials. I will certainly look at attending more classes at Hobbycraft in the future. Thank you!

Michelle was a really fantastic & very patient tutor. She was very experienced and encouraging. I had not touched my new sewing machine since I got it for Christmas.
