I’m Ellie, a ceramicist based at the Manchester Ceramics Collective in Old Trafford and also work in the Interior Design Industry. I have been working with clay for nearly 7 years and now run workshops that combine my knowledge in interior design and with clay.

However, I aim to offer workshops that are more than just ceramics. Following an extremely difficult year where I lost someone incredibly special to me to mental health, I’ve had an overwhelming desire to do something that makes a difference.

Mental health is becoming more prominent than it ever has before, with an overwhelming amount of life pressures. At Sculpt and Sip, I aim to create a peaceful, mindful environment where people can come, connect, relax and escape from the stresses of busy lives and focus on the task of creating (over a glass of Prosecco or a non-alcoholic alternative!)

I still want to be able to give something back and fulfill that desire to do something to help. That’s why 10% of all profits from Sculpt and Sip workshops go directly to Mind charity to help others who may need support through a difficult time.

Ellie and Kate were absolutely brilliant, on hand to assist with any ideas we had and gave great advice of how to achieve what we wanted to do. It was a great atmosphere and the two hours went very quickly.
Highly recommended, it was a great evening, even couples came
Everyone enjoyed it.

I bought a pottery painting workshop with Sculpt & Sip as a present for my friend who is pregnant and it was the perfect way to spend some quality time together at the end of a busy week: a very mindful activity, which allowed us to catch up and be creative together. The venue was great (See Saw) and instructions very easy to follow. Loved the atmosphere, would highly recommend and attend again! Can’t wait to see my plate

Loved the workshop, so much fun!

Wish we had a little longer to paint and lightning was better.

Also wished there was a wide range of colours.

But overall we loved it. Thanks so much!

Teacher's response

Thank you so much for your review, and I’m glad you enjoyed the workshop.

I really appreciate your feedback and will definitely be ordering some more colours for our next workshop (and invest in some additional lamps!)

Hopefully we’ll see you back soon.
