1. Light a fire in her heart with a candle making class
When you’re in love, everything is special. Even the little things that you would normally take for granted. However, if you really want to go above and beyond this Valentine’s Day, then instead of just giving her a candle, we suggest that you consider giving the gift of candle making.
If your girl is all about cosy and sweet-smelling things, an incredible soy candle making workshop might be the best Valentine's surprise for her! It's seriously the perfect gift to set a magical ambiance and add some heavenly-scented charm to her space. And here's the best part – you can totally join in on the fun! It could be a super cute activity for both of you. Or, if she's in the mood for some "me time," she can dive into the craft solo. Either way, she's going to have a blast creating her own lovely, fragrant candles. Give your girl the gift of a fantastic soy candle making class and watch as she brings a touch of scented magic into her world. She'll absolutely adore it, and you'll earn major cool points as the ultimate gift-giver!
Let’s not forget candles are super romantic, so if you decide to join in on her potential new hobby, it could be the chance for that romantic quality time you’ve both been waiting for. If you're after cute things to get your girlfriend for Valentine's Day, you could even turn this Valentine’s gift into a Valentine's Day experience gift!
When you give an experience as a gift, like DIY candle making, you’re not only giving the joy of a new hobby, the chance to fill a home with homemade candles and some skills – you’re also giving the gift of lasting happy memories! That’s why we think candle making classes make for absolutely perfect Valentine’s gifts for her!
Our expert gift-giver, Creative Content Lead Phoebe Griffiths got stuck into a candle making class in Manchester. Here's her verdict:
Absolutely loved this class! Lizzy was super informative and friendly and I learned a lot about notes and scents. I especially loved thinking about what kind of fragrance I wanted for my candle and getting creative with mixing all the essential oils. The workshop was also in a lovely space with beautiful scandi decor and the prosecco was flowing! I love my finished candle, it's super high quality and smells just like my favourite Aesop hand cream! Perfect for a team building/work do which is what I did but also can see it being a super relaxing activity to do with a partner or some friends!
Why she'll love it:
- Creates lasting memories: Giving an experience like a candle making class isn't just about the end product. It's about the shared experience and the memories you'll create together.
- Sparks a new hobby: Who knows, maybe she'll discover a hidden talent for candle making and turn it into a new hobby.
- Adds a touch of romance: Let the romantic ambiance of the candle-making workshop set the mood for a truly special Valentine's Day.

2. Let your love flourish with a flower arranging class
Is she a lover of all things floral? We love floral ladies! If the woman you’re buying for loves something pretty to look at (apart from you, of course), then a flower arranging class or floristry workshop could be one of the best Valentine gift ideas for her! Instead of simply giving her a bouquet of flowers, you’ll be giving her the opportunity for her to take up a new (and very relaxing) hobby – and who wouldn’t want that? No longer will she spend her quiet evening wondering what to when bored at home. Now, with the help of your wonderful gift, she’ll be able to enjoy a soul-soothing activity and fill her home with decorative additions from dried flower arrangements to DIY Christmas wreaths (there are all sorts of floristry classes, even DIY flower crowns!).
With a floristry kit included, she won’t have to buy anything or trouble herself with finding fresh flowers and pretty accessories. All she’ll need to make a gorgeous modern flower arrangement is a little creativity and an hour all to herself to simply relax and unwind. The calming floral scents and fresh foliage is sure to make her feel zen and happy, which is what makes this unique gift idea a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day! Your lady will get so much joy from playing with petals, leaves and stems that we think floristry classes will make a great Valentine’s gift for her! Don’t waste any time in giving your romantic gift ideas a floral touch.
Why she'll love it:
- A truly unique and thoughtful gift: Flower arranging classes are a unique and thoughtful gift that shows you've put a lot of thought into it.
- A relaxing and therapeutic activity: Flower arranging is a calming and therapeutic activity that can help her unwind and de-stress.
- A chance to learn a new skill: She'll learn valuable skills that she can use to create beautiful arrangements for years to come.

3. Roll up those sleeves and treat her to a fun clay date with a pottery class
Is she the creative type who loves to get her hands dirty? If your special someone enjoys making things, a pottery class could be a favourite amongst our best valentine gift ideas for her! Instead of giving her another trinket, you'll be giving her the opportunity to learn a new skill and create something truly unique and lasting. No longer will she spend her evenings wondering what to do with her free time. Now, with the help of your thoughtful gift, she can explore her creativity and learn the art of pottery. From hand-building to wheel throwing, there are all sorts of clay making classes to choose from, allowing her to discover her own style and techniques.
With all the necessary tools and guidance provided, she won't have to worry about buying anything extra. All she needs is her imagination and a willingness to get a little messy! The feeling of shaping clay and bringing her own creations to life is incredibly rewarding and therapeutic – it's a truly unique and mindful experience that allows her to connect with her inner artist. Your lady will get so much joy from experimenting with different techniques and seeing her ideas come to life, that we think a ceramics workshop will be a gift she'll cherish forever!
Our Business Development Manager and creative class expert Robbie Troth tried his hand at a hand building pottery workshop, and totally rated it:
This was my second time at the New Dawn Pottery studio, which has moved to a bigger studio since the last time. The studio is in a cool location and has a beautiful view of the canal! You can't help but feel creative there and Filipa has done a great job with it. This class was taught by Nina, who was also an amazing teacher. The class was laid back, informative and fun and Nina was funny and super warm. She helped us step by step and if we needed a little touch up she was more then happy to sort it out for us. She enabled and encouraged us to be creative and think outside the box with our vases. I would 100% do another class with both Nina and Filipa, I recommend it to anyone, especially as a present for a friend or family. I took my mum and my partner, we all buzzed off it!
Why she'll love it:
- A truly unique and thoughtful gift: Pottery classes are a unique and thoughtful gift that shows you've put a lot of thought into her interests.
- A relaxing and therapeutic activity: Working with clay can be incredibly calming and therapeutic, allowing her to unwind and de-stress.
- A chance to learn a new skill: She'll learn valuable skills that she can use to create beautiful and unique pieces of pottery for years to come.

4. Grab the vino and help her unwind with a paint and sip workshop
Does she love to be creative and let her imagination run wild? Is she often on the hunt for creative things to do at home? A paint and sip class is one of the best Valentine gift ideas for her! Whether you choose a relaxing watercolour painting class or you opt for an online wine-fuelled paint party, your lady will be able to enjoy being creative and focusing on nothing but herself (and possibly the glass of wine beside her).
Painting requires hand-eye coordination and as a result, it’s a very mindful activity. That’s why a ‘learn to paint’ art class is a gift that actually leads to feelings of calmness. So when you give your woman the gift of art, not only will she get a fun time out of it, she’ll also feel refreshed and relaxed and she will have you to thank for that!
Even as a beginner, after an art class online, the special girl in your life will finish the session with something that she can proudly display, like a framed picture – it could even be the start of your very own DIY gallery wall. This could lead to a new hobby and interest, which might just be one the best gifts for her that she’s ever received!
If you think your loved one would enjoy something a little messier, we suggest giving her the gift of ceramic painting! With a pottery painting craft kit, your lady can go wild with all sorts of colours and designs – it could make a perfect Valentine’s activity present if you don't mind getting your hands dirty (or sticky!) with some clay and paint too!
Why she'll love it:
- A fun and social activity: Paint and sip classes are a fun and social way to spend an evening, whether you join her or let her enjoy the experience solo.
- A chance to unleash her inner artist: Even if she's never painted before, she'll have a blast exploring her creativity and creating something beautiful.
- A relaxing and therapeutic experience: The act of painting can be incredibly therapeutic and help her to unwind and de-stress.
