This hands-on lampwork glass workshop in London is designed for anyone looking for a creative and rewarding crafting experience — whether you’re a complete beginner or simply curious about working with glass.

During the session, you will work with molten glass in the flame and learn core lampworking techniques with step-by-step guidance from an experienced instructor. Choose between two workshop options:

Taster class - 1 hour

Best for: participants who want a fun, hands-on introduction in a short time.

Create one or more glass flowers during the session.
Learn essential heating, shaping, and basic flame-control techniques.
Step-by-step guidance from an experienced tutor.
You can bring your finished piece home.

Creative class - 2 hours [Recommended]

Best for: participants looking for flexibility, variety, and more creative options.

Choose from 20+ creative project options, including: flower, figurine, jewellery, seasonal designs, and more.
Learn a wider range of lampwork techniques.
Step-by-step guidance from an experienced tutor.
Create one or more handcrafted glass pieces.
Includes a beautiful gift package.

All materials, tools, and safety equipment are provided, and a short safety training is included at the start of each session. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own handcrafted glass pieces, beautifully packaged and ready to keep or gift.

Please note:

Other workshops may run at the same time.

A perfect mother daughter bonding time for us as we began wondering what we will be able to acheive. The guide was patient, encouraging, and explained the process so clearly that even something as intricate as working with molten glass felt approachable and exciting. I loved the hands-on nature of the session — learning how the glass transforms with heat, experimenting with colours and forms - fusing 2-3 colors also, and then seeing something beautiful gradually emerge from your own hands was incredibly satisfying. There was a lovely balance between guidance and creative freedom, which made the experience feel both structured and personal. What I enjoyed most was how immersive and different the workshop felt. It gave me the opportunity to slow down, focus, learn a new craft, and simply enjoy the process of creating. A beautifully curated workshop and definitely something I would recommend to anyone looking for a unique, creative, and memorable experience.

4/5 from Chris Rigby, attended Oct 2026: Working with the glass was fun. The room is well set up with lots of different colours & sizes of glass rod. There are examples of flowers to copy. The briefing was brief. More would have been useful. The main issue is burns. You're holding a glass rod in a large flame continually for an hour. If you lose concentration, it is pretty easy to put your hand into the flame or pick up a piece of hot glass. 4 of the 6 people in our group were burnt.
2/5 from Drew Alletson, attended Oct 2026: very minimal instructions provided. also when you finish the instructors put the decoration in the pot and put it in a bag covered with tissue paper, and say ‘don’t remove it until you get home, then cut the bag open so you don’t damage it when pulling it out’ so i did that and when i removed it i saw the bamboo had been glue in very wonky and it leaned heavily to one side. there were also very few beads in the pot. so it wasn’t very supportive. i left it on the table overnight and when i woke up the wonky bamboo stem had fallen, and both flowers and leaf had fallen off and shattered. this was a 2 hour workshop that was very expensive and ive come away with nothing at all to show for it. i fond it very strange that the instructors don’t give you any say in how it’s put in the pot, and that they don’t show you the finished product before it is hidden under paper

Amazing to see how you can mix colours, bend and shape the glass into it's desired form. Even adjusting something was as simple as heating it up and bending into position. Would definitely recommend the experience to anyone wanting to make something different and unique.

I made a glass flower which I really enjoyed and although I need more practice it was a good start for a beginner. I liked the prior information and the thorough directions for finding the venue. We had a small class so the experience was really personal and we did not feel rushed at all. We went for cactuses and Iris flowers. The instructors Holly and Hannah were so helpful and encouraging. We never felt we were just left to work it out on our own.

She was so good and took us through the process step by step and helped us create a beautiful flower which I don’t think I could’ve created in my wildest dreams. I feel it’s definitely worth giving it a go. We are definitely considering going again for the 2 hour session.

1/5 from Marianne Harris, attended Jul 2026: My nan attended the Bento Class Lampwork Glassmaking Creative Workshop, expecting an enjoyable and creative experience. Unfortunately, it turned into a very unpleasant experience that she is still dealing with three weeks later. During the workshop, my nan suffered an awful burn to her hand. What was particularly concerning was that she was not provided with any ice or appropriate immediate support for the injury. For a workshop involving hot glass and obvious safety risks, I would have thought basic first aid and appropriate care would be a fairly reasonable expectation — apparently not. The fact that the injury is still present three weeks later makes the whole situation even more disappointing. This was not simply a minor inconvenience that disappeared once she went home; she has continued to have the consequences of the injury weeks after attending. She also paid £100 for this workshop, which makes the experience even harder to justify. Paying that much money for an activity only to leave with a burn and feel that the injury was not properly dealt with is hardly what I would consider good value. Perhaps the organisers could consider making participant safety and aftercare slightly more of a priority in future. At £100 per person, I don't think that is an especially outrageous expectation. Overall, a deeply disappointing experience. I certainly wouldn't recommend it based on what happened to my nan.
