This introductory beginner's glass workshop in London is specially designed for absolute beginners with no prior experience in lampworking glass. It's the ideal activity to learn how to create your own stunning glass flowers without feeling overwhelmed.Through careful observation and teaching, we have found that starting with the Mini Flower Set is the perfect way to begin. This approach allows you to get hands-on straight away and successfully create beautiful pieces. In this workshop, you will learn how to make mini flowers, which have 3-5 petals that are lightly pressed, or small flowers, where each petal is pressed multiple times for added detail. To ensure a high success rate, each flower is limited to a maximum of 5 petals. You can choose a workshop duration that suits your schedule:
1.5-hour workshop: Create a mini set of 2-3 flowers or a small set of 2 flowers.
2-hour workshop: Create a mini set of 3-4 flowers or a small set of 2-3 flowers.
3-hour workshop: Create a mini set of 5+ flowers or a small set of 4+ flowers.
For those interested in creating more intricate designs, we recommend joining our Improver Beginner Workshop after this introductory session. You will leave with a gorgeous collection of your very own handcrafted glass flowers and a wonderful sense of achievement from mastering this mesmerising art form. Please note that the workshop duration includes a 20–25 minute tutorial and safety briefing at the beginning of the session. This introduction is part of the total workshop time. Please note:
This workshop involves hot glass, tools, heated equipment, and open flames.
Guests must be at least 12 years old. Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

5/5 from Elani Stanton, attended Sep 2026: Did a beginner 2 hour flower making class with my mum. Our instructor gave us a quick demonstration that was easy to understand and then we were off to do our own thing. It was surprisingly easy to get the hang of it and add your own twists! The location is good too and easy to find. Shop itself was clean and had a lovely vibe, would definitely recommend as a fun day out!! :)
5/5 from Karen Moulton, attended Sep 2026: Very good instructions and demonstrations.
5/5 from Ruben Berghmans, attended Sep 2026: I got the workshop as a gift . It was a super fun experience and the staff was very helpful and friendly . Would certainly like to come back
5/5 from Lucy Cumming, attended Sep 2026: My friend and I really loved the class, a special activity to do for a special occassion. Staff were helpful. Great range of colours. Would love to spend longer there if there wasn’t a jump in price to increase just half an hour. Would still go again, we want to do it as an annual treat!
4/5 from Laura, attended Sep 2026: Really enjoyed it and it was easy to get the hang of, the tutor did a tutorial at the start of the session then had no involvement otherwise. Our session was also cut short by 10 mins
5/5 from Mark Maniscalchi, attended Aug 2026: This class was awesome, I ended up making a bunch of glass petals for two flowers. The process of shaping and heating the glass was almost mediative. The shapes the glass took and the colours of heated glass were spectacular and felt one of a kind. The teachers were around to help and were able solve any problems which came up.
5/5 from Marina, attended Aug 2026: My 18 yo son and me, we attended a beginner workshop and were able to make a good number of beautiful flowers. Unlike my son I found working with glass challenging. The instructor, a very nice and knowledgable artist, came to my rescue several times and made sure my flowers came together really well.
5/5 from Becky Froggatt, attended Aug 2026: Really great class, I highly recommend it! Definitely go for the 2 hour class for that extra bit of time. Teachers were fab and very helpful.
5/5 from Erina Rasaily, attended Aug 2026: The glass flower making class was very good! I really enjoyed it and it was a very calm environment to practice the craft. Really appreciated the big groups being broken into small groups and being led by multiple teachers. They explained everything thoroughly and were always watching to make sure we received what we needed. I did feel like it wasn’t long enough as I was enjoying and found it therapeutic. Would say it requires your entire attention. Highly recommend!
5/5 from Amber Beaton, attended Aug 2026: The class was very fun and the teacher was very helpful.
5/5 from Nobue Zimmern, attended Aug 2026: She was very informative and great demonstration. Really enjoyed making flowers.
5/5 from James West, attended Aug 2026: We had a great time, Aisha was a lovely teacher and took time with us at the end to make sure our petals were attached properly. I'd recommend getting at least a 2 hour session as 1:30 wouldn't have been long enough.
5/5 from Phoebe Stubbs, attended Aug 2026: Great class, we had loads of fun. The instructors were excellent.
2/5 from Melita Sarah, attended Aug 2026: No help at all
2/5 from Lauren Smewing, attended Aug 2026: Not enough guidance and I was only able to make one flower. Disappointing. Both me and my sister also burnt our hands whilst working with the hot glass. Would not recommend.
2/5 from Danielle Samuels, attended Aug 2026: Brief lesson on what to do, followed by very little supervision. Effort required to get the attention of people working there and frustration that they needed to change the gas cylinder on my burner, and gave very little help when needed. Shame as I’d have enjoyed it way more if I’d had more help and guidance. Bearing this in mind, it was very expensive and I wouldn’t recommend it to others. Oh and we had to walk away leaving our burners still spouting flame and walk across the room to ask someone to turn them off! This could so easily be improved from a basic safety perspective as well as value for time and money.
5/5 from Alan Kakkassery, attended Jul 2026: So much fun! Really enjoyed the workshop and left with wonderful memorabilia
5/5 from Michala Love, attended Jul 2026: Brilliant class made 5 glass flowers in the allotted time everything is well explained and there is clear guidance throughout with members of staff on hand the entire time the venue is wheelchair accessible and the staff very accommodating of special needs
5/5 from Lauren Anderson, attended Jul 2026: Lovely workshop! Good instruction at start and support throughout where needed. Easy enough to pick up but 2 hours would’ve been more relaxing instead of 1.5 to perfect the flowers!
5/5 from Lianna Holston, attended Jul 2026: Really enjoyable - starts with a demonstration on how to make the flowers and then you're given free rein to create! Would recommend booking the 2 hour session - I booked the 1.5 hour one and would've loved an extra thirty minutes to keep playing.
5/5 from Luisa Gonzalez Jacquorie, attended Jul 2026: Super great class! The intro was short but informative, just right before starting our own glassblowing.
5/5 from Helen Susan Thompson, attended Jul 2026: The lampworking glass flower workshop. I found it not to be as easy as it looks, and with my nickname 'Hurricane', I kept dropping my flowers and having to restart the whole process... The class itself was very friendly and the teachers were not intrusive on our creations (only if we needed assistance - which I did). It's really wonderful to learn a new skill though and the feeling of achievement, once I'd mastered the basics, is second to none. A very pleasant afternoon was had by everyone and with a little 'something' to take home, to remember the experience, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Song Art and Craft and the whole ClassBento Team for making my 65th birthday present a very memorable occasion.
5/5 from Holly Moule, attended Jul 2026: Really lovely workshop. Electra was very helpful and talented.
4/5 from Stephanie Kwok, attended Jul 2026: Had a really great time doing something new and different with a friend. The main criticism I would make is that although the studio seemed to be full of teachers, after the initial demonstration it was quite difficult to find someone to help when we needed it - and we definitely did as novices! When they did come though they were quite friendly and helpful.
4/5 from Amaani Oluwa, attended Jul 2026: The workshop was lots of fun! It does take a lot of practice though so try to be patient with yourself and you’ll hopefully get the hang of it!
5/5 from Catherine Ng, attended Jun 2026: Great workshop! Teacher was thorough. Highly recommend. I would suggest doing longer than 1.5 hour class if anyone were to do it as it gives you more time x but our Pikmin is happy at home with its new flowers!
5/5 from Mathew Potrykus, attended Jun 2026: Had a lovely time, everything was demonstrated very well and we received plenty of help when things got difficult. Even got an extra souvenir. Wonderful staff and a wonderful time, thank you so much
5/5 from Sarah Cole, attended Jun 2026: I really enjoyed this workshop! It's a pretty unique experience, and not something I'd have been able to do at home. The workshop was more casual than I expected – it was more like a rolling workshop within a gallery space, with individuals and small groups arriving at their allotted times, rather than something where everyone arrives all at once and receives instruction en masse – but I quite liked that because it meant everything was explained to me one-on-one, rather than me straining to see/hear past a crowd, and I didn't feel rushed or like I was competing with others for the instructors' attention. There were a few people available to help when I had questions or needed help – which happened quite a bit. I've tried a lot of different crafts, but this was quite a challenging one! Working with hot glass isn't something you're going to totally master in 90 minutes. Another attendee managed to make four flowers in their session while I only made two, so the number of flowers you'll make is pretty variable, but I enjoyed experimenting a bit with mine. I'm happy to recommend this class. My main tip would be for people who wear glasses. You do have to wear some provided tinted safety goggles for this activity – not just because of the hot glass and such, but because you're staring at a white-hot flame for over an hour. I was able to awkwardly put my glasses over the top of these, but I did wish I'd worn my contact lenses. It's not the end of the world if you only have glasses, but if you can wear contacts, I'd advise it – it'll just be more convenient and comfortable. Also, you might want to take a small box along to transport your flowers home in. The staff do carefully wrap them in soft packig material and paper, which is pretty protective and worked out fine for me, but I was worried about accidentally crushing them on the way home.
5/5 from Aashna Gajra, attended Jun 2026: This class was amazing! We made the cutest little flowers! Our teacher Tanya was so patient and helpful, she made it so much fun. Samiksha was also very helpful, we can't wait to be back!
5/5 from Shannon Belle, attended Jun 2026: We had a great time, the teachers were there to help and guide us, will come again. I would say to give a 30 minute warning rather than a 15 minute warning, as this was our first time attempting the glass work. BUT the teachers offer to help you finish it when your workshop ends.
5/5 from Ethan Penfold, attended Jun 2026: Very helpful and fun!
5/5 from Ed Altman, attended Jun 2026: Great class! It felt really difficult at first but we both managed to make some nice flowers. Could happily have stayed for double the time making more
5/5 from Jeremy Suarez, attended Jun 2026: A brilliant teacher
5/5 from Hayley Brand, attended May 2026: Had just an amazing time at this workshop, got so engrossed that I paid for an extra hour! The teachers are lovely and amazingly helpful. I came away very proud of what I created and a huge smile on my face!! I would recommend this course to anyone!
5/5 from Pear Chuanuwatanakul, attended May 2026: A very enjoyable session and Electra was a fantastic teacher. Definitely recommend for everyone wanting to try something new!
5/5 from Gerben van der Meer, attended May 2026: Recieved wonderful instructions from teacher Yao and assistant Izu. After these instructions we were allowed to work on our flowers at individual workbenches. It was surprising how effortlessly you are able to create simple glass flowers, and with some more effort a bit more complex ones. In the end we were able to take something beautiful home.
5/5 from Maria de Vos, attended May 2026: We made beautiful glassflowers. A wonderful idea for a gift voucher
5/5 from Rayan Ahmed, attended May 2026: It was such an amazing experience, loved learning a new skill. Teachers were so kind - even helped when I broke mine. Saurabh was THE BEST!!!!
5/5 from Katherine Gao, attended May 2026: Flo was the perfect instructor very detailed and helped whenever we needed best guidance ever
5/5 from Abigail Allman, attended May 2026: An amazing class. They were hot on safety and made sure we knew how to stay safe and even provided hair bobbles in case you forget. We wended up with a private class as no one else was booked on which was extra fun. We were shown different levels of complexity and they were always ready to give any help. When my flower snapped; they were quick to fix and secure it for me. The teacher was lovely and our flowers were well packaged up at the end of the class to make sure we could get them home safely. They have some exciting new classes coming up, and I would definitely recommend them.
5/5 from Sam Cumming, attended May 2026: Good fun, well organised and taught class
5/5 from Beverley James, attended May 2026: My first time at the Lampworking Glass Flower workshop and I really enjoyed the class. Electra, our tutor, explained each step clearly during the demonstrations and was very encouraging throughout the session. I would definitely recommend the workshop to family and friends.
5/5 from Alistair Ward, attended Apr 2026: Absolutely brilliant, was a great date location and surprisingly intuitive once you got going - would recommend to everyone!! We made 4 flowers but you can make as many as you have time for
5/5 from Meiten Liew, attended Apr 2026: I had my first stained glass class today with my tutor, Jin Jin. She was excellent at teaching me how to work with the glass, and I really enjoyed the experience.
5/5 from Bryony Shelton, attended Apr 2026: Fabulous class - loved it and wished I could have stayed all day. It’s pretty fiddly but for anyone naturally crafty it’s not too hard to pick up. The team were super friendly and great teachers.
5/5 from Karen Marsh, attended Apr 2026: Thank you an excellent workshop.
5/5 from Alesha Wade, attended Apr 2026: We had such a good time. We went through the safety procedures and were shown how to make the petals, how to blend colours, and how to layer the petals into a flower. 10/10 would do again
5/5 from Kathryn Cook, attended Apr 2026: The class was great, Yao was a fantastic teacher. After a short introduction I set to making flowers and came away with a few good ones! I’d definitely recommend this class.
5/5 from Caroline Daw, attended Apr 2026: The individual tuition was great. The teacher really knew her stuff and everyone was so helpful and kind. I was so impressed by all of the work they had already produced. Very inspiring
5/5 from Kirsten Attah, attended Apr 2026: Had a really wonderful time at the studio. Our teacher for the session was incredibly enthusiastic, patient and helpful. I would highly recommend giving this a try.
