What you'll do
Join me in my studio at the Makers Yard in Leicester. Makers Yard is located in Leicester’s cultural quarter where it is the oldest surviving hosiery factory in the East Midlands. The building has been sympathetically restored into studios for artists & makers.
In this resin beginners class you will have the opportunity to create two beautiful ocean/abstract works of art using high-quality grade epoxy resin, mica powders & other art mediums.
This class is perfect for newbies who want to learn about epoxy resin and techniques in a friendly, supportive, and encouraging environment. It is also a fantastic workshop for those interested in creating and learning about a new medium, which can be daunting and challenging to some.
What’s Included in this class:
- Shared knowledge and wisdom from an experienced resin artist (tips, information, techniques, and guidance)
- A Demonstration will be delivered to ensure learners become familiar with the medium, materials & tools.
- Learn about different resins, mixing ratios, how to mix, curing times, and how to remove unwanted resin drips, and more.
- All materials provided: high-grade epoxy resin, mica powders, tints, inks, personal protective equipment, and a safe working environment.
- Insight into the workings of epoxy resin.
- How to prepare your substrate for resin art.
- The creation of two beautiful miniature works of art on a 10 cm substrate, which you can either hang on your wall or use as coasters.
- Newfound creative skills and confidence with epoxy resin.
Upgrades: Optional products can be created, including resin wall art, resin ocean-inspired coasters, button coasters, botanical coasters, serving platters/trays, and more.
Please be aware that epoxy resin art takes approximately 7 days to fully dry so you will not be able to take away your piece on the day.
*Please note that the duration of class is a close approximation. We do not want students to to rush the creative process & therefore it may take longer then the stipulated time.

Leicester based, contemporary self taught resin & mixed media artist, Bhavna Gandhi.
My works of art are inspired by the coastlines, nature & our universe. I forever explore a variety of mediums & natural elements such a flowers, crystals, sand which I encapsulate into my resin art works giving them texture & making them both tactile & unique pieces.
The creations which I produce range from ; hand painted ink art indoor planters, botanical coasters made from dried flowers & leaves encapsulated in epoxy resin, artisan trinket dishes, hand painted serving boards completed with a resin finish, ink art prints, large celestial themed wall art, ocean inspired coffee tables embellished with healing crystals.
In the last couple of years l have taught art classes & have released 7 new resin art classes this year (2024). Sharing my knowledge, expertise & wisdom with individuals who have been inspired by my
work has been humbling & rewarding.
