What you'll do
Get your creative juices going whilst you discover the world of silver clay jewellery making with this course in Wolverhampton!
At this beginners course, you will learn how to use silver clay paste to make a beautiful filigree pendant!
During this relaxed two-day jewellery making course, you will learn all there is to know about making DIY jewellery using silver clay. Let your expert teacher and talented jeweller spark your passion for this wonderfully addictive DIY craft!
On the first day of this jewellery making course, you will:
- Learn about handling the clay including rolling out and texturing
- Learn how to set a fireable stone in clay ready to add to your pieces
- Using the silver clay paste, you will also learn how to make a solid silver leaf from a real leaf which can be picked from around the studio
- Whilst your pieces are drying, you will also design the shape of your filigree piece, and make the template in preparation for day two
Your teacher will then fire your pieces after the class so they are ready for day two.
On the second day of this jewellery making course, you will:
- Polish and shine the pieces that were fired overnight, and also complete the filigree piece using the template from day one.
- Learn finishing techniques for your pieces and add colour and antiquing to your homemade jewellery.
At the end of this two-day jewellery making workshop, you will have your finished pieces all ready to take home. You can even add them to the chain and ear wires (included in this course) to make a complete set and walk away wearing your very own bespoke jewellery.

All materials, including the chain are provided on the day, and as we will fire it during the process, you will go home with a beautiful piece of solid silver jewellery hand made by you.
What to bring
Please bring a packed lunch.Optional:
A leaf from a place that is meaningful to you. You need to make sure the leaves have lots of veins and detail on the back, if the leaf is smooth, it won’t make a good piece. If you are unsure, you can always bring a few along and your teacher will tell you which will work well.
