What you'll do
Feel like getting crafty and creative? If you're looking for a new hobby or some fun things to do in Wolverhampton, why not discover jewellery making with this fun silversmithing course for beginners?
During this laid-back and enjoyable course, you will learn about the properties of sterling silver and how to make it work for you when crafting and creating your own handmade jewellery!
Throughout this DIY jewellery silversmithing course, you will:
- Learn about how to anneal and how to work harden sterling silver.
- Discover how to measure for a ring size or a bangle size, and then take into account the thickness of the wire used so that you cut the correct length of silver wire.
- Learn how to use a bench peg.
- Once prepared, you will learn how to solder your pieces, and what to watch out for when soldering.
- Learn about pickling and removing the fire scale and finally how to finish and polish your pieces.
At the end of this jewellery making workshop, you will not only have some silversmithing skills under your belt but also some gorgeous handmade jewellery pieces to call your own!
