Immerse yourself in the world of marbling with this captivating art class in Edinburgh. Led by the talented instructor, Merve, you'll delve into the time-honored technique of marbling, employing carrageenan, a substance derived from red seaweed.

Under Merve's expert guidance, you'll master the traditional art of marbling, which involves delicately floating earth pigments on water and mastering various marbling techniques to craft your very own marbled papers. This hands-on Edinburgh art workshop blends demonstrations and group discussions, ensuring you have ample opportunity to produce a stunning array of patterned papers to take home as keepsakes.

Throughout the course, Merve will provide dedicated support as you work with A4-sized trays and an array of prepared papers in a kaleidoscope of colors. You'll have the freedom to experiment with these diverse marbling techniques, allowing you to create truly unique pieces of marbled art.

As you immerse yourself in this delightful and relaxing painting course, you'll be serenaded by classical music and enjoy breaks with tea and coffee. Marbling is a mindful and meditative activity accessible to all, regardless of age or prior experience.

Upon completing this Edinburgh art workshop, you'll depart with your collection of exquisite marbled paper samples, a handy handout detailing how to continue your marbling journey, and all the recipes used in class to create the various marble baths.

  • An apron to protect your clothes if you want to.
  • Folder or tube large enough to hold A4 paper if you wish to protect your artwork on your journey home.

Yet, her art goes beyond visual aesthetics and is a powerful therapeutic tool. Merve's genuine passion for mindfulness and compassion training has led her to use marbling paper art as a means to promote healing and well-being. She has diligently worked with individuals facing mental illness, depression, and anxiety, gently guiding them toward mindfulness and inner peace through the meditative practice of marbling paper.
Merve's workshops extend beyond personal growth to touch the lives of non-governmental organizations, charities, and individuals seeking solace and tranquility. Her mission is to empower others to harness the healing power of art and mindfulness, offering a quiet lifeline to those navigating the depths of their emotions.
She also organizes art workshops with children, adults, and individuals with disabilities.
She expanded her skills by completing art therapy courses at the Birmingham Art Therapy Center and studying Jungian and Post Jungian Clinical Concepts at the Centre for Applied Jungian Studies.
