What you'll do

Enjoy a few hours of crafting and make your own fabric wreath for the Christmas season at this fun wreath making class in Edinburgh.

Fill up your cup of festive spirit with friends and family or join in solo and meet other like-minded crafters as you make your lovely fabric wreath. A fabric wreath can be re-used year after year and is a sustainable door decoration that you can cherish rather than part with when Christmas time is over.

Guided by your experienced teacher, you'll learn how to make your unique fabric wreath step-by-step in a fun and relaxed environment. You'll use sparkly, vibrant fabrics, ribbons and baubles to make your wreath special to you! The fabric looks great in a wreath and it's also a great opportunity to upcycle and use fabrics left over from previous creative projects.

You'll have a great time making your fabulous festive wreath – hang it in your home or on your door with pride or gift it to a lucky loved one. It'll brighten your Christmas season year after year!

By the end of your class, you'll be filled with the joys of the season and you'll head home with a host of new craft skills as well as your gorgeously unique fabric wreath. Happy craft-mas!

An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.

The Edinburgh Sewcial Club first opened its doors in 2014 teaching dressmaking, sewing and other textiles crafts to people of all ages, levels of ability and experience in evening and weekend classes.

Our fun, social classes are a great way to try something new and learn a practical craft and skill!

Now, as well as dressmaking and sewing there are also a number of other textile crafts taught, beading, embroidery, upcycling & mending even fleece mermaid tail blankets! Our 'sewcial club' is a friendly environment to get creative!

Teacher was very friendly, small group class, so we all get enough 1-2-1 time. Venue was a little tricky to find, but instruction email was very helpful.

The festive wreath making class was very good, we all left with great product and feeling proud of our creation.

Great experience! Super teacher, plenty of materials, enough time to complete the wreath. Very relaxing and enjoyable afternoon and lovely to have the finished wreath to take away. Good value for money if you consider the cost of shop bought wreaths. Main plus for me was being able to create a wreath using exactly the right colours to coordinate with the colour of my furnishings. Would definitely recommend this workshop to anyone regardless of creative ability as this is an achievable craft for all.

Ali delivered a supportive, fun class which was relaxing and allowed me to "switch off" from life for a bit. The venue was conducive to creation, with plenty of materials to choose from. The wreath making was a great fun and easy way to create something handmade for home. The other crafters were warm and friendly and we had a lively, lovely shared experience. Ali was very welcoming and explained very clearly what we needed to do. It was a small group which ensures we got lots to f help and assistance. This is the second course I've done and they've both been so enjoyable. Would definitely recommend the wreath making session as a fun relaxing way to spend a morning/afternoon in the run up to the holiday season. Also there are so many fabric choices, it's too hard to choose!

This was a great class. There was so much fabric, we were spoiled for choice! Lots of tea and coffee offered and plates of food so felt well catered for. Went away with a finished wreath and a frame to make another one. Good value, enjoyable class.

I would highly recommend this workshop - it was a lovely atmosphere, and Ali was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was wonderful to walk away at the end with a finished product - a Christmas wreath that I was proud of! It was great to see what others in the class were doing as well, using the wide range of fabrics and materials that were available. It was a lovely way to get into the festive spirit, with some Christmas tunes playing in the background and refreshments to get us in the mood for the holidays. I would certainly book another class with this teacher.

Great to see how six of us in the same room with the same resources could all produce very individual but beautiful wreaths. It was a lovely relaxing and very enjoyable session with a completed wreath to take home at the end ready to hang up at home.
Lovely teacher who was very keen to help and encourage us all and share her love of her craft whilst sharing her tips with us all.
