Make Your Own Ceramics at Home

Looking for an easy way to get started with making ceramics? This handy kit is the perfect introduction to this fun and tactile craft! Containing everything you need to create a unique mug, bowl or sculptural object, along with an easy to follow illustrated guide and video instructions.

You'll then use the included protective packaging to send your piece to us for glazing and firing, giving you a beautifully made, professionally finished ceramic piece to last a lifetime!

Please be aware that small, delicate creations passed on through the mailing system are likely to bounce around and break. So please avoid making your pieces with tiny detail, or anything such as beads etc.

Whether you're a coffee connoisseur creating a bespoke mug or want to do some free-form sculpting as a family, our selection of kits has a little something for everyone.

Here's how it works:

Step 1: Your kit will arrive within four working days.

Step 2: Make your mug/bowl or the freestyle sculptural kit (great for children), following the illustrated guide and video link we will send you.

Step 3: Send your kit, carefully packed, back to us. We recommend using Parcel2GO or MY HERMES.

Choose to have your parcel collected from your home if you are able to print out your own label, or you can opt to drop it off at a parcel shop near you.

Step 4: Sit back and wait for the magic to happen. We are going to glaze and fire your piece within 2-3 weeks!

Step 5: We'll post it back to you, so you can enjoy your unique ceramic piece!

Each kit contains:

• A bag of pre-coiled clay and clay base.
• A set of four coloured slips (pink, white, yellow and blue) to decorate your piece.
• A magic bubble box to protect your piece to be sent back to us.
• Illustrated instructions and a video tutorial.
• Glazing and firing.
• A set of pottery tools (optional £10 add-on).

You have a choice of two different styles:

The mug and bowl kit:

Comes with the ideal amount of pre-coiled clay to make a perfectly proportioned dish.

The sculptural kit:

Ideal for freeform sculpting with kids, this kit contains uncoiled clay, letting you shape it however you wish. Make sure the design is sturdy enough to not break in transit (no long handles or dinosaur tails, for example).

• Paint brushes to apply the coloured slip to your piece.
• Tape to seal the parcel to return for glazing and firing in the kiln.

If you don't choose the add-on for pottery tools, you should also have:

• A plastic card (an old loyalty card for example).
• A sharp implement or a cocktail stick for carving a pattern.

• Set of pottery tools (£10)

You can add these when you book (optional).
 

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 5 years old). An adult must be present whilst kid(s) engage with the box.
