Hi, I’m Naomi. I set up Jasmine Pottery Studios back in April 2019 when I fully transformed an empty shop space in Wakefield to be a fully functioning pottery studio. My love for teaching and getting my hands dirty dates back much further however, as I first started out working as a freelance tutor in adult learning delivering art and pottery workshops. It was during this time that the idea for the studio started to take shape, as I wanted to be able to share my passion for clay with as many people as possible. Children, beginners, CEOs. Everyone!
Why clay? Simple. I truly believe it can be a powerful tool for improving wellbeing, building social skills and letting your creativity soar. Luckily for me, my Partner and potter-in-crime Pepe shares the same view.
Away from the studio, I'm a mum of two boys.

Absolutely brilliant class - we really enjoyed it. Naomi was amazing, so patient and a wonderful teacher! I would recommend this every time!

Highland cow pottery class, was fun and enjoyable. The teacher was lovely, helpful and friendly. The venue was good, and all necessary equipment provided. Everyone’s final item was slightly different, but each one turned out well in their own way. I took my 11 year old daughter and there was a nice mixture of people, old/young and men/women, all novices, so nobody felt out of their depth.
My suggestions to improve would be; offering cold drinks (they only provided hot drinks) especially with summer coming up, this would be an easy fix and way to increase turnover.
Also, the teachers instructions were good, but everybody couldn’t always see her in the room, so sometimes it was a little unclear as to what we were meant to be doing. She came round to everyone in turn, but obviously with a full class, this took time. Maybe some laminated guide pictures on the table would be good as a teaching aid, so we could all see what she meant with each instruction.
All in all we really enjoyed the day and would recommend it to others.

First time working with clay since making an ashtray at school some 50 years ago.
It was great, everything was provided, it was quite a full class, but the teacher was constantly moving around helping where needed.
The studio is bright and welcoming, it was a little hard to find if you are unfamiliar with the area, it is not in the Ridings shopping centre, but just outside (under the green carpark).
I'm going back in a few weeks to glaze my cow, (my aunt says I've done her horns too bigI say it's artistic license)
The class has definitely left me wanting to do more pottery

Was fab, we really enjoyed it after getting a big too obsessed with the pottery throwdown on channel 4. It was nice to give it a try ourselves! Looking forward to seeing how our pots turned out
