Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Warm welcome from Hazel, Cirencester branch, who was very knowledgeable and reassuring. She went through what I wanted to know with my new computerised machine, especially the automatic needle threader. We were in a quiet spot, 121 and with a nice coffee. 2nd visit for the canvas painting as my granddaughter aged 4years old really enjoys these workshops. Lots of paints to choose from and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The only thing I would say is that it takes around half an hour not a hour as suggested.

Half term activity, Sophia was excellent with suggestions and assistance. The materials were a good selection, overall good value.
We were very lucky to be the only child which allowed one to one but with more children it would be difficult to achieve a good result in the half hour session.

We had a brilliant time with Jessica at Cirencester Hobby Craft today. The upstairs room was a great space and Jess provided us with lots of beautiful beads, paints, and all the materials we needed to make Christmas decorations. Our granddaughter had great fun painting a Christmas bauble, a pipe cleaner star covered in beads and a Christmas tree made from buttons. Thanks Jess.

Fantastic class, Jess and a colleague (sorry didn’t catch their name!) were very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour and were so helpful and attentive! I had booked with 2 other family members and we all came away feeling like we’d had a great time and had learned a new craft, there were plenty of materials in the box to embellish the large wreath each and we also bought a few more bits from the Hobbycraft range to personalise the wreaths a bit more, even though they also were perfect the way they were!

The venue was very good. Plenty of space. The teacher had done some examples for the children to follow. Plenty of materials, also written instructions. They had a lot of fun. I was also kindly given a cup of tea and one of the children had squash. At the end the teacher kindly found an empty box for them to put their treasures in. Great value.

Young teacher was lovely, but could be more involved.

I booked this class for my 3 grandchildren (7,9,9) and my daughter and myself. It was advertised as an hours session.
The activity itself was good, but we were encouraged to leave after just over half an hour even though we hadn’t finished and we were told the course lasted only half an hour. I showed my email stating it was an hour. But they said that was a mistake and we were still pressured to leave.
My daughter and myself had not completed the task in half an hour so I don’t see how children could be expected to and I would not have booked it on the basis of half an hour - not worth the effort of getting there and the money etc. the staff’s approach to the problem was not good. This needs to be addressed. I should also point out to you that it is illegal to advertise a service and then not provide it without a refund. Karma Boss. (Mrs).

I had a lovely relaxing afternoon starting to crochet. The yarn provided was lovely and soft and I had a beautiful blue colour to work with. Hazel, our teacher, was patient and explained everything very clearly. The other members of the class were chatty and encouraging and when we went wrong, Hazel didn't mind re-explaining our mistakes.

Having never crotched before I was not sure what to expect we had a lovely lady with great patients who helped my 10 year old niece a lot she is ready to carry on at home on her own and with me in a little while we will be singing up for more lessons to improve our skills. It is so much nicer to be shown how to do something than to try and learn off a piece of paper or on a screen. We had a wonderful 1.30 hours.

Another great one to one sewing session, with Hazel learning how to read a pattern, cut out transferring information plus tips on how to carry on and complete the project.
Hazel's knowledge and experience is great, she explains things in a very calm way which makes you feel so relaxed and at ease.

Really enjoyed my one to one lesson with Hazel who is very knowledgeable helpful and patient, went back to basics and sorted out problems with tensions loading the bobbin properly and setting the machine correctly to achieve the simple sewing projects that I want to make.

Our 4 year old grandson very much enjoyed this Easter craft class. He made two bunnies and two pinwheels. The pinwheels worked well as soon as we left the store - we were there on a very windy day! The Hobbycraft assistant stepped in to help him as and when he needed it. Good value for money.

The tutor Mel was so very lovely with the children. On arrival she settled them introducing herself and was clear to explain what they were going to be doing.
Mel helped with giving ideas, all the materials were to hand & there were plenty to go round.
The craft room displayed samples of different crafts which was bright & cheerful. Plenty of room to craft on the table provided.
The children totally enjoyed the experience, we definitely recommend the workshops.

Lady was lovely who done the session with us, she was in charge of the Halloween workshop which we attended which was amazing! We weren’t very happy with the activity for this Christmas, pipe cleaner Christmas trees, was very difficult for my 7 and 4 year old daughter to do. Decorating a Christmas ball ball would of been a lot more enjoyable for them!

Participation was low in numbers, the session was a surprise present for a sister who was home for a holiday. The venue was very basic but the offer of liquid refreshment was good and made up for it. The kit you got as part of the lesson was excellent.
The lesson itself was very informative and the small amount of attendees was perfect as this allowed “one to one”with the tutor for all of us at different stages of the lesson.
The tutor was excellent and really knew her stuff and was able to convey that in a friendly manner without making me feel foolish.
I was disappointed when I asked if there was another lesson to carry on with the learning, eg; how to read a pattern, what size hooks and what type of yarn to use for different projects. Maybe spread over a couple of weeks and ending in making something small from a pattern.
Ultimately I was more than satisfied with the lesson from a very experienced, friendly and understanding tutor. It was very good value for money and would highly recommend this for complete beginners like me.

The venue was easily accessible through the back of the shop, either by stairs or a lift, making it very accessible. Parking was easy right outside. The staff were welcoming and friendly putting participants quickly at ease. We were offered a drink as soon as we arrived which was a lovely touch. The box of goodies was ready when we arrived. I did the clay Christmas ornaments session and the resources were very generous and meant that we could continue creating at home. The ornaments were very easy to make and we were given lots of tips to improve the finish, or with creative ideas by our tutor. Being based in the store we were able to browse afterwards to buy extra items, such as other cutters, or acrylic paint, to use later at home.

I realy enjoyed making the wreath but would have liked the person taking the class to have made one along with us. She supplied us with extra bits apart from what was in the box with no extra charge and that was a nice touch. I would do another class.

I really enjoyed my one to one lesson with Hazel she gave me a lot of information as to how to get the best from my Janome 4400 machine using the different stitch settings and the type of needles to use on different fabrics.

The lady who ran this class at Cirencester (really sorry forgot her name) was brilliant and really engaging with the kids when doing their paper mache animals. Lovely little class for them to do in the summer holidays! I booked 4 of the classes but so far this one was the best.

Friendly, helpful welcome. Plenty of space, and good working area. Perhaps not sufficient activity to last a whole hour. Good range of materials. It would have been helpful to have a demonstration of different ways of decorating the masks, before the children started.

Hazel the tutor was really good she explained how to prepare & use the sewing machine giving clear instructions which made it easy to follow. Hazel demonstrated and then assisted me to follow her lead.
It inspired me so much I brought a new sewing machine materials & cottons. I'm really looking forward to starting my new hobby and knowing help is at hand another workshop away with Hazel.

We had a nice quiet room, ideal for workshops. The teacher was excellent. Very patient and knew the craft very well. The course came with my own box of wool, crochet hook and pattern etc. Very impressed. We went through the basics of casting on and then I followed the pattern under her instruction and guidance. Highly recommended and great value. I'm looking forward to completing my bunting at home.

Beth was an awesome teacher - so friendly and so good with my little girl. She was able to explain how to make the Pom Pom bunnies really well. Think it was lovely having our own set to go away with too so she can practice what she learnt.

We attended the Easter bonnet making workshop with our 3 year old and it was the first one we had been to. The session was held up stairs in the store in a separate craft room and there was tons of materials available for the kids to help themselves to, to use on their bonnets. The lady running the session was lovely, friendly and helpful and offered all the adults a drink which was a lovely touch. The workshop was lovely and informal and a really comfortable space. We were not at all rushed and the whole experience was brilliant. The value for money was fabulous and I’m really looking forward to booking more workshops. It’s a great idea! Thankyou so much for a great time! My son loved it and is very proud of his bonnet.

The staff running this Bonnet workshop were lovely and so so welcoming. One lady I believe was called Julie, sadly I didn’t get the other lady’s name.
They made me a lovely cup of tea which I’ve never had at any of the other hobbycraft stores during a workshop.
My daughter had a lovely time making her bonnet, nothing we asked to use was too much hassle and afterwards they made a lovely fuss of how great it looked. The staff in store even gave her a big round of applause when she was wearing it.
Can’t wait to come back for another workshop, hopefully very soon

I had a lovely 121 intro to Cricut with Emma, who was lovely and so enthusiastic. Although we were hampered by connectivity problems, she was calm and helpful and finally we managed to set up using my iPad. I really appreciated the chance to have a hands-on session with the Cricut and Emma was able to answer all my questions.

Julie was lovely and very knowledgeable. There was a problem with the connection with the tablet talking to the Cricut, the manager worked hard to rectify it so my class was extended which was very much appreciated. I would reccomend doing classes with Hobbycraft. The venue at Cirencester is very good as you are not in the shop so you are not interrupted by customers.

Molly the teacher was brilliant made me feel at ease straight away and was interested to hear what I would like to learn about design space.
The area was away from the shop in the craft room as the machines hadn’t been set up yet. I think this was a much better idea I have had a lesson before but was on the shop floor which isn’t ideal

Lovely, clean space for the workshop. Made some beautiful little stars to use for Christmas wrapping. Our workshop leader was very helpful and kind.

A few more cutters and stamps for the workshop to share would have allowed a few more varied designs instead of just stars.
