Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Beginners crochet course. What an excellent class! Our tutor Katie was so patient and explained everything so well. We had 4 people in total which meant that she could help us all individually if needed. The materials provided were really lovely quality. We learnt 2 basic stitches. Such good value for money and a perfect length of time to learn.
I would definitely recommend.

Lovely patient teacher, fun activity. Was initially a little concerned that 5 nine year olds were let loose with glue guns but they were sensible, and I was very glad they were trusted with them as it definitely made it more fun! The finished products look great.

Today we attended our first Hobbycraft workshop a kids monster clay making session with my two children. They both had a really lovely time! The workshop leader was really friendly and showed us some great techniques while allowing the kids the chance to get creative and make their monsters however they like. The materials used were great and we even bought some in store after to make more creations at home. The class was excellent value for money and we will definitely be back for future workshops in the future!

I've wanted to learn crochet for a long time, and this class was what I needed. Our teacher was great, not only she demonstrated what we should do, but also took the time to go around and help one to one. It was only 1.5 hrs, but I'm happy with what I've learned.
And I got a nice hook and two bundles of yarn to practice!

I went with my wife as we both wanted to try crochet for the first time. Our teacher was so friendly and fun to chat to. She explained everything so well and didn't mind going over things more than once and showing us from different angles. We felt really confident afterwards and both immediately started crochet projects at home using the skills we had learned and the materials that were provided. The teaching alone was worth the cost!

Great workshop led by a great teacher. Nothing was too much trouble. There were five of us and we had sole use of the store craft room which was good. All given two balls of wool with a crochet hook, instructions and bag. Very impressed. The session went quickly, and we learnt at our own speed. Would recommend

This was a great class. It would have been handy if the teacher had done the craft too as this is what happened before and was useful for the children to see each step, rather than to be told about it. But great fun either way!

Really enjoyed our beginner crochet class and by the end could do the basic stitch and make a square. Teacher was very patient as I took a while to pick up the technique.

We have done a number of workshops at various Hobbycraft locations. We very much enjoyed this one. Lauren was a good teacher.
However, we were more than disappointed to discover we couldn’t take the pens home. We had things we hadn’t finished. I suppose you are wanting us to buy the pens but that does seem rather cheeky when we’ve paid to do the workshop. Also, of the 2 pens we used, only one was available to buy and there was only one of those and two of us. Maybe there should be a rethink as to what is included in the price.

Very enjoyable course, marbling and painting Christmas baubles. The class took place in store, which was a friendly and efficient workspace, although the table was very wide and so hard to reach the materials at time. A sets of material on each side of the table would have been helpful. The teaching was very basic. We were given a very quick introduction and it would have been good to have a little extra intervention at times. I'm not sure how much experience the tutor had had with the product. I was very happy with my results, although the smaller baubles worked much better than the larger ones.

Craig was an excellent teacher. I had never used an electric sewing machine before and he explained everything clearly, giving me the confidence to make my first purchase. The venue was great, with a dedicated area for trying the machines.

First workshop I have done and was great experience. All materials provided were good quality and the teacher was knowledgeable, friendly and was helpful. We had time to talk to each other and see which colours gave the best results.
I bought more supplies to make more at home.
The art room was clean and tidy also well ventilated. A fun way to spend an hour learning a new craft skill thank you.

I loved this class. Only thing is i wish we could have used the space to continue with our projects to finish them before coming away. (if the space wasnt going to be used that is). we could have done it without guidance. That is the only thing i would say. A consideration not a complaint! It was lovely :)

I enjoyed learning how to decorate the wreath. It was a relaxed and friendly class. I put 4 stars as I expected some slices of dried oranges and cinnamon too as the email you sent it attracted me very much. Perhaps you could add those on the table if some people like me would like to buy and then add them to the wreath at the same time?

Ladie was lovely , but I told what I wanted to do Scrunchie the burrito method brought every thing with me ect material cut to size , and it was sorry to say she didn’t no what she was doing I tried to to say but done what she thought , which ended up being wrong , so half lesson waisted , not what I expected .

The teacher was extremely friendly and welcoming. She gave clear instructions on what to do and frequently checked that everyone was okay and had what they needed.
This particular class was paper maché pumpkins and I took my two daughters aged 5 and 11.
The teacher took the time to find out their names and speak to them, she engaged with everyone adults and children throughout the session and made it fun for all.
All materials were provided and everything was of a good quality.
We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be booking more craft sessions in the future. It is great value for money and the staff do a great job

I attended the beginners crochet class yesterday at Canterbury. Katie the teacher was excellent. She clearly and very patiently explained each step of the process and was very encouraging when I struggled with some elements. I was the only one on the course which for me was beneficial as Katie was able to devote all her time with helping me. I learned how to make chains, double and treble crochet and am delighted that I attended the course. I was provided with a crochet hook, two balls of wool, written instructions that I can refer to at home and a cotton bag to put it all in. The craft room was light and airy and even on the hottest day of the year so far I felt comfortable. The only thing that would have been beneficial is for there to be a "customers" loo.
