Looking for a creative and unique activity in Birmingham? Learn the art of traditional batik wax-resist dyeing in a fun hands-on workshop. Even if you're an absolute beginner, this workshop is perfect for you.

In this 2-hour workshop, you'll have the opportunity to create your own batik art design while learning the basics of batik canting. Our experienced instructor will guide you through the history of batik, the tools and materials needed, and how to use hot wax and a special "tjanting" tool for "tulis" batik.

Mixing colours to achieve the perfect tone and shade will be a key part of the workshop, allowing you to experiment and unleash your creativity. All the necessary materials and tools will be provided, so you can focus on enjoying the process of creating your own unique piece of batik art.

What to expect:

  • Learn about the history of batik, how it is made, and the tools and materials needed for batik canting
