- 5/5 from Linda J Baker, attended Aug 2026: We were warmly welcome by Nelly to her textile studio, which was like an Aladdin’s cave for crafters. The studio was beautifully set up. Nelly explained each process with patience, knowledge & humour. Nelly has a fabulous, extensive bead collection which meant we could all work with a vast variety of colours & styles without waiting for someone else to finish. We were each supplied with all the equipment we needed to create our bead embellishment pieces, no sharing or waiting for kit to become available. Nelly also provided pastries & cold drinks throughout the workshop. The workshop flowed easily and to be honest we would have happily stayed for another couple of hours, it was so relaxing and peaceful. Each of us has continued with our creative pieces at home. I would absolutely recommend Nelly & this class.

Her teaching in how to embroider was also excellent and learning new techniques was fascinating. Snacks and drinks were provided, and it was a really relaxing environment to get immersed in a new skill!

Hi! I've been sewing, cooking, and crafting for decades. I just love being creative and teaching others to do the same, so much so that I qualified as a textiles and food teacher over 15 years ago and have been teaching ever since. I'm also qualified in couture hand sewing techniques, bridal wear, pattern cutting, and soft furnishings. My embroidery kit business, Nelly Makes, was born through my love for embroidery. Embroidery, to me, is my time to unwind and recenter, and I figured other people could do with having the same experience. Since opening the business, my work has been featured in Cosmopolitan magazine, Homestyle magazine, Buzzfeed, Kirstie's Handmade Christmas, and also Love Embroidery Magazine. I've taught more crafting and cooking classes than I can remember, so you're in good hands with me!
