7 hours Class size 4 to 8     label £100

Looking for a summer accessory that will make you stand out from the crowd? Join this weaving workshop and learn how to weave your very own hat out of English rush.

Guided by your talented teacher you will learn the art of weaving to create a wearable item that you made by hand. As well as picking up weaving techniques you will also learn more about the materials rush, and how it's grown, harvested and processed.

Rush is a soft natural fibre that is easy on your hands and has a variety of shades of green, brown and yellow for you to explore so you can make your hat very individual.

This weaving workshop is mobile and comes right to you and your friends with all the weaving supplies you need. It's a fun way to celebrate a birthday party or just a way to gather your pals to get social.

Please note:
As this class is mobile, you will need to provide a venue large enough to weave in e.g. an outdoor space. If you are unsure, please message your teacher for more information.

Using traditional methods to create contemporary design Green Spiral Willow is all about using willow to create stunning woven items.

Green Spiral Willow was created by Yanina Stockings. After growing up in the highlands of Scotland, she was surrounded by the ancient Caledonian pine forest where she takes a lot of inspiration. She has a BSc Hons in conservation and sustainability is very important to her.

All the willow and rush supplied in her classes are sourced from the south of England and she tries to harvest her own locally. This helps her bring the ancient rural craft of weaving to everyone in an eco-friendly way!
