Led by friendly seasoned artists, their fun workshops are a brilliant introduction to the exciting world of sculpting, from the flying metal sparks to the intricate craft of casting. Get ready to immerse yourself in all things woodwork, ceramics, and the fiery allure of hot metal practices in this state-of-the art studio!

As a not-for-profit founded by community-loving artists Giles Corby and Jessica Mello, London Sculpture Workshop breathes life into the local creative spirit.

You won't believe the incredible journey these folks embark on. Seeing them embrace the challenge of learning new skills and techniques, building their own impressive portfolios of artwork, and then watching as they triumphantly gain admission into prestigious art schools—it's so inspiring!

My favourite part of teaching is…

“It’s got to be giving people the space to explore, create, and unleash their creativity. At LSW, we offer that precious time for them to dive into something entirely different, letting their curiosity run wild or simply finding peace in the quiet of their thoughts.

Watching them immerse themselves, witnessing that intense focus and concentration—it's like seeing their artistic souls come alive! And you know what's even more incredible? The look of sheer surprise and amazement on their faces when beginners are able to step back and discover what they've crafted with their own hands. It's pure joy and that's what makes it all so incredibly rewarding!”

From challenge comes creativity…

“Clay became my muse [during lockdown], and those stolen hours I could manage between mum duties became my cherished private time. It wasn't just about sculpting the clay; it was about carving out precious moments of "me time" amidst the chaos. It was therapeutic, liberating, and a chance to nurture my own creativity amidst the daily hustle.”

My most unexpected workshop creation…

“We did a big project once where we had to recycle old boilers! And you won't believe it—the artists' ideas were pure brilliance: it was a true masterpiece of sustainability and creativity coming together. Recycling never looked so good!”

My top three tips for sculpting beginners…

“1. Dive in fearlessly: Just give it a go! Don't hold back, and don't be shy to get your hands dirty. Embrace the adventure and let your imagination run wild.

2. Mix it up: Don't limit yourself to one material. Try your hand at various mediums and see what sparks your creativity. The beauty of sculpture lies in the endless possibilities!

3. Be an explorer: Oh, and remember, experimentation is the key! Don't be afraid to break the mold and discover new techniques. That's where the real magic happens.”
